Hi All,

I have been doing my annual search for sponsors for the club and I have had a little bite... its far from a big fish and its very far from landed!

I need to get peoples thoughts and gauge interest in a non-racing event that they are looking to do that will accompany their support of the championship in 2008 (and, in essence, make the deal happen).

They want to run a road rally from the UK (london) to the Beaujolais wine region in France. The rally will be for the release of Nouveau Beaujolais wine on Thurs 15th Nov 2007. The rally will be lead by a road legal race car (this is in hand). It is likely to run from 13th-15th and will include a party (paid for by the sponsor) in Beaujolais (including a vinyard tour) and when the rally gets back to the UK. The success of the rally will depend on numbers and it will be promoted to as many 2cv owners as possible (this includes club GB etc.).

The event will cost nothing to enter (although ferries, fuel, accomodation etc. will need to be paid for) and the parties will be free.

The sponsor is doing the rally for PR purposes and so numbers and some good photos of the fun are crucial.

If we can make the above happen then they will sponsor next seasons racing and (hopefully) have an active role getting more PR for the club.

sounds good but his year been a costly one for the 2cv crowd, most just back from sweden but its worth a try
