This chap raced in the first 24hr at Snet, leading in the early stages - some may remember him. Here is a message he recently sent me. The Channel 4 film idea could be interesting.

"Hi Martin

Hope you are well
We spoke briefly of my mission to find a car for my College students to prep and run in this years marathon. Based in South London, I have persuaded them to dip their toe into their first ever Motorsport involvement, although they have been sending students to the rallyschool for around 5 yrs now.

I race and rally Fiestas for a different College - on the CEME Ford site at Dagenham -  ( 1st in Class on Woodbridge Stages in Nov )  and they too will run a car this year.
I'm hoping to drive in both teams???
The Media students have previously prepared work for Ch4 and they will film a documentary on the build and the Battle of the Colleges. The car will be worked on at my new rallyschool venue at Basildon, Essex.

Myself plus three lecturers will drive so there should be a good story.
Any assistance and advice you can provide would be great - not least on sourcing a car asap.
