Matthew Hollis

Hi all,

Once again the 'unofficial' team championship will be taking place in 2016. This is your opportunity to win a trophy at the end of the year, and we often see some unexpected results! Last year it was won by the super-team of Walford/Rosie/Sea Lion, though had we had one more meeting they may well have been caught!

Format is as follows:
Teams consist of a maximum of 3 cars (so if you have 4 cars, split into 2 teams of 2).
Team points are awarded as follows:
1st - 20 points
2nd - 18 points
3rd - 15 points
4th - 12 points
5th - 10 points
6th - 8 points
7th - 6 points
8th - 4 points
9th - 2 points
10th onwards - 1 point

Team finishing positions are determined by how quickly a team gets 2 of it's cars over the finishing line. Example:

Team A:
Car 70 finishes 1st in the race
Car 71 finishes 10th in the race

Team B:
Car 72 finishes 3rd in the race
Car 73 finishes 4th in the race

Team B is classified 1st, as it got two cars over the line before Team A. If a team only manages to get 1 car over the line it can still score points, but will finish behind all the other teams that got 2 cars over the line.

Other stuff to note:
- The car scores the points, not the driver, so any number of drivers can make up a team, up to a maximum of 8
- If more than 8 drivers drive the same car during the season, the car will still score points, but driver 9, 10, 11 etc will not be listed as part of the team
- Any driver can appear in more than one team
- Each race is a standalone event, so no shared points
- At the 24hr race, the team only needs one car to cross the line to determine it's team finishing position
- In the case of force majeure (i.e. car is written off or damaged severely preventing it racing at subsequent meetings) a replacement car may take its place in the team. This can happen at any point in the season until round 10 (the 24hr) when no changes may be made.
- No entries or significant alterations to the team championship can be made after Monday 18th April.

If you would like to compete in this (its a bit of fun but there is a nice trophy!) please either reply to this post with your team name, and the number of the cars in your team, or email [email protected] , or come and find me at Oulton.

If no entries are received then Hollis Motorsport win by default, hurrah!!!
