I've found a snag on filling in this B licence form.

Has anyone any experience of banned substances (one of my meds is on the FIA banned list) and still being able to get a licence?

Withdrawal from medication is imminent though it would need to be done in stages, what are the implications of this? I know the form is valid for six months but wondered if I can sit the course on the meds then be taken off them without generating problems with the licence.

All advice gratefully received!

Catherine,
Get in contact with the MSA and explain the situation. You may need to get a waiver for the particular medication. The details of how to go about this should be in the blue book, or look on the msa website www.msauk.org

Alternatively, and I am not suggesting or condoning this, keep quiet and run the risk of dope tesing!

Cheers Trevor!

Had been reading the 'blue-book' (and all the other bits of paper!). Have looked at the 'wada' and 'msa' sites but the information is not far advanced on what is in the 'b-b'  :?  so will phone the msa tomorrow.

It had crossed my mind   to keep schtum about it, seeing I'm coming off the pills, but would be totally gutted if caught, then not allowed to compete  so figure honesty is the best policy.

Spoke to my GP today and he doesn't see it being a problem to get off them fairly quickly though I need to check if my other ones are acceptable - can't see them on the list, so fingers crossed!

Have waited a long time to do this and don't want to blow it at the final hurdle! (Long story, if anyone really wants to know, buy me a lemonade, sit quietly and I'll witter for hours about it!!!)

Thanks for response Trevor.

Best wishes
Catherine

Boo hiss.

Unable to obtain a licence this year due to medicines. MSA very pleasant and helpful. Need to be clear of use for six months before sitting ARDs test.

You'll all need to wave at me as I sit on the pit wall - again.

Catherine,
Exactly what did the MSA say? rather than going into your medical history in public, drop me an email to trevor.williams.net@boltblue.com or phone me on 07889 647270. Depending on the medications you are taking there may be ways around
