Some of us 'old boys' that have nothing better to with our time are trying to put together a list which will be as complete as possible of all the items needed to take a standard car or a car that needs updating up to current club spec.
These items will be regulation items, desireable items and safety related items. With each part we are hopeing to have an approximate cost and a person or persones to contact if a part is required. This will I hope give people an idea of what is involved in getting a car up to racing standards and the cost of the parts.
The whole point of this being that we know there are cars sitting in garages that haven't been used for a while and this will help people decide to get them out and up to spec.
When the list is complete I hope that members will add to information already there,I.E.,if know somebody that has made race springs for a 2cv in your area add them to the list so the information is available to all.
All being well this should be a useful tool to new or prospective members.
Yet another half sensible post from me,don't worry,it won't last.

Gower & Lee - Watford 01923-247300.  Will collect your preboxed carb from you - Rebuild - return to you very clean at approx £160. This includes VAT and carriage both ways. Cost of actual refurbishment is about £105. The rest is carriage and Vat. They have been approached with regard to a better price for quantity but will not move. If it takes 3 hours to rebuild one it will take 30 hours to rebuild 10.
Please add this to your list.

Geoff,
The ones I have had done are rebushed. Speak to them about any work needed. They are busy but will speak to like minded people. I would have thought you might be doing this yourself anyway.

Mine rev counter broke before Silverstone (no nasty comments now...) and I am looking for a replacement.  As I am severely short of funds at present I am probably going to have to buy another of those digital kart ones but if anyone has a spare analogue that they are prepared to part with for not too many beer tokens then can you give me a call on 07714 684342 please?

If this is not the appropriate place to ask such a question then let me know and I'll pretend to be humble!

Francis, my analogue one is from a Harley-Davidson (surprise surprise); it might be possible to get one from a bike scrapyard from a Japanese V-twin or parallel twin for less than the cost of an H-D one.

Try Yamaha XV, Suzuki VX or older SV, possibly also Ducati for V-twin ones.

I got a Harley rev counter off eBay (hope it works...).  I assume it needs 12v and a feed from the +ve side of the coil but being a complete idiot (no comments thanks Pete) electrically, if you could tell me what to do I will buy you a pint next race.  Please.

12v to orange, signal (coil) to pink, earth black as far as I can see from my own one!
