In another thread in the forum there is some good discussion as to the driving at this years race and damage to cars.

Car 40 - Crisis Racing view is that 2007 was amazingly incident free given the weather - of course we are biased as we had the experience of 2006 to compare against.

Worth noting again here that all the 2cv's which entered finished (as for 2006)

Hugh in our team sent me this link to the "Chris on camera: the Nurburgring 24hrs Part 3" which describes mayhem in another 24 hour race this year.

64 cars failed to finish (gives a clue to size of the grid) with a lot of them very expensive write off's.

go to autocar -videos - to find the footage

this link should work as well

I think my pace-car start shows how good driving standards actually were- being one of the slowest cars on the track, I was unlucky enough to be the lead car when the safety car came out during the 10- midnight stage. During the first few laps of the restart, not one car even gave me so much as a tap as they came past, & some of them were going at a hell of a rate. So can I just say thank you to everybody for avoiding a novice who was absolutely terrified!
