Title: Would you let me race if I ran Bio-ethanol?
Post by: Ben Allan on October 09, 2007, 08:21:13
...assuming that I didn't pick up any points (it has an octane rating of 104) and that I shared any technical knowledge that I picked up swapping over the fuels.

If your invitation to these exhibition races provided real interest, perhaps we could look to a rule change next year for the year after's racing?

Ben

If its good enough for an Aston Martin DBRS9 it must be good enough for a 2CV!

No, I looked into bioethanol on the request of Pete with the MSA. In order to use it, it would have to be a control fuel, and the MSA would have to authorise it's use, which they are not so keen on for grass-roots competition at the moment.

Downer!

We'll just have to go back to consuming ethanol in the old fashioned way.

Is Jack Daniels a control fuel as Trevor seems to go quite well on it? :D
