Title: Radio FINE PRINT
Post by: Martin Harrold on April 16, 2008, 21:50:26
Following the launch of the 2CV 24hr Race for '08, I'm pleased to say that Radio FINE PRINT will be there again, keeping everyone informed throughout the night.

I'm told that it was especially enjoyed by the catering crews of the teams, toiling away in their 'kitchens'. All the marshals posts had radios too, but I suspect some of them became waterlogged.

It will work pretty much as in '07. The only changes are on the technical side - no big truck - we found out that the actual kit needed will almost fit into a suitcase! If things work out, the studio should be under the commentary box, and will welcome visits from anyone involved with the race, who wants to tell a story or just have a not very private chat.

I'm delighted to say that we already have some new partners this year. They include www.crusadervans.co.uk, Total and Tecco inkjet papers. We can squeeze in two more, max. Give me a call or come and have a chat at a race.

Is there going to be a downloadable podcast after the race?

Great stuff Martin. Do you want me to make a news item of this for the main site?
If you want different wording, give me a shout.

Podcast - well, I don't even have a pod!

I think there are all sorts of technical possibilties, but I'm not too au fait with many of them, so we'll look at as many as possible as time permits. Nick Roads is assisting, and I'd be happy to set up a group discussion to formulate ideas and actions.

We could have one at Pembrey, but it's always difficult to get anyone who's racing to think of much else at a race. Mark, Chris, if you get a moment, please come by our truck and we can have a chat - at least it's somewhere to sit out of the rain. There's also an airline usually plugged in at the back, which anyone is free to use.
