I need the chopper bit for this; (1) are they available separately and (2) are they model-specific or all the same?

Drawing for Aluminium version attached. Mark @ Whitwell was investigating manufacture of these.

Thank you; is there a problem with the plastic ones? Never tried this before, just finding stuff out.
Derek,
Not As far as i am aware, but these were considered as an alternative, (sourced one from the belgian guys and I reverse engineered it then drew it), and are grub screwed on to the nose without the advance and retard mechanism. I dont know what the effect of this is, maybe Paul or Mark will be able to eleborate on the advantages / disadvatages of using this one against the Plastic, original version, which is fitted over the nose of the advance mechanism which would have operated the original Contact breaker.

You wouldn't have the advance/retard with this one, but maybe that's because the Belgian cars in question were running fuel injection and that was done electronically?
Still doesn't tell me where I can get a plastic one! There's the remains of a broken chopper* in a box of bits that I got from Norry (which is where the unit came from), but not enough bits to reconstruct one.
*The grifter bits are somewhere else.
Try luminition themselfs. Been helpful in the past.
Or wayne,he holds the club stock.

I may have a spare plastic one in the motorhome, I will try and check tonight. If I do I will post it to you over the next day or two

Thanks Paul. Trev, I'll try Wayne, so don't go excavating yet...thanks for the offer though.
Was easy to find, let me know if you want it and I'll put it in the post
