I 'phoned Nicola @ the BARC re.the above, as last year was a bit of a scramble. She says there are unresolved issues that need to be sorted out. Do they relate to timing & venues, do we know?
They are to do with the MSA not approving our regulations as there are numerous mentions within them of "The Classic 2CV Racing Club" and the fact that the club is not a registered club with the MSA. I only found out about it last week at the BARC do, and told Phil (as drivers rep) and Aubrey and Christine.
The main problem that I can see is that the regs state that "The classic 2CV Racing Club will accept x number of pre-paid entries......." or some such wording. Under the Blue Book regs the club would have to be registered with the MSA to organise races - we aren't, and it is a couple of year process to get that approval. Its a result of the club "pre-paying" for the track time and taking the entry fees before paying BARC. I don't think they picked up on it last year, and are probably being a bit over-officious this year
BARC (both Ian Watson and Dale Wells) are on the case.
Just had a note from Nicola at BARC, the regulations are all signed off and should be on the BARC website to download some time in the coming week
They will also be posted next week as well
