Title: Cadwell
Post by: David Bain on April 03, 2010, 21:54:28
I wasn't expectimg a lot; the field was sparse and a lot of the cars looked tired. Big wash and brushup for Mallory, perhaps? You pilotes made up for the shortcomings, though. The racing was excellent even if one commentator did seem to be of the opinion that Sammy is a bloke! Mind you, they thought Ainslie was Steve and I'm not sure who should be the more offended about that one . . .

The racing was great, as David says! Well done to all who turned out!
Can't wait for the discussion about the weber carb!!!!!
Well done to Matt Hollis who won both races using a Solex!!

As most of you know, for us the start was not great! We only confirmed to race on Tuesday/Wednesday, I would like to thank Steve Panas and Christine Thompson, BARC and Andy Smith who's cheque for a Camshaft paid for my Club Membership, and Jon 'Spanners' Clewer who has agreed to help me out as mechanic this season (kept him busy).

A really big Thank You to Trevor Williams who, within minutes of us getting the car back to the paddock came over and said 'you can use my spare engine' (although he did say - it could be S**T by the time I had got my overalls off, Jon 'Spanners' and Helen Deeley had brought over the engine and we set about changing it.

Well done to Matt Hollis, a good result as he had 'braved' the solex on this power circuit!

Great circuit, good racing and to top it off - 'really good bunch of racers'

Thank you

Well done Matt, two very well executed drives, and what a decision to use the Solex, not what we were expecting at all.

Congratulations to Matt for back to back wins at Cadwell. Another season going to the wire I think. Well done to Sammie for two very good drives at "her" favourite circuit!!!!!!!!!!!!! Watch out for Tony Robinson this year. This car is quick. Also take a look at the Clio cup car of son Mike. Commentators on ITV noted new colour scheme for this year. There is now a Tete Rouge liveried car on the BTTC package!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D

Hi Paul,

Hmm, it's supposed to darken the screen, then launch a little window which shows a slideshow. It's all powered by 'javascript', so just check if that's enabled in your browser.

I've found in the past that if you are using the later versions of internet explorer you need to press the compatability button to make it work (it looks like a torn page located next to the address bar).

Didn't know Ainslie did the first race with one of his doors open! The clerk of the course must have been in a good mood  :D
