Whatever happened to Ed Drake-Lee??
I am at Brands this weekend, and the Chief Medical Officer is a Dr. E. Drake-Lee.
Just wondering if it was one and the same!
Cheers
Trevor
I think it is - when I sold him "Big Mac" he was just setting out to university. And this wish-list from Amazon would appear to confirm it...

Neil McD.
As the man said...
"Hello,
I'm Edmund Brendan Drake-Lee.
I can't imagine there are many others with my name, so I suspect you've found the right person.
Well done."
Wonder if Trevor can resist the 'Dr. Livingstone, I presume' routine? ;)
Cheers!
As it was, he didn't do the duty!
Well, I was doing that thing where you put your name into Google and see what you get back... after a few references to Sir Francis Drake (no relation, although interestingly his father was apparently called Edmund) I found myself being discussed on this very forum, back in 2010.
I can confirm that the rather grandly-titled Chief Medical Officer (otherwise probably known as "only doctor at the circuit") was meant to be me. I imagine that having volunteered to cover the weekend several months beforehand, I found myself on-call at work instead.
Neil is right, I was going to university at the time I bought his 2CV racer - but that was the first undergraduate degree, in Information Systems, which I was doing while I had my brief 2CV career. I sold my 2CV in 2003 before going off travelling around the USA for 5 months prior to starting another five years at university studying medicine.
Understandably this extended life as a student rather scuppered my finances for racing. These days I mostly attend races as either a spectator or as a doctor in the rescue team - usually at Thruxton or Brands Hatch. However, I'm currently assembling a Mk1 VW Scirocco for hillclimb/sprint (maybe racing if I can find a suitable series) and I'm hoping to get my race licence back.
I remain a member of 2CVGB and would be interested in driving a 2CV next year if anyone needs another driver.
