Order a 2010 Professional Motor Sport World Expo' 2CV 24 Hour Enduro DVD and support the 2CV Racing Club. For the last few years at the 2CV 24 hour race Martin Harrold has put together radio coverage for the event. This transmits on the FM frequency at 87.7fm and is available to pick up within a few miles of the circuit. His company Fine Print have generously been the main sponsor of this each year.
In 2009 he extended the media coverage to include a webcast which went out for the entire 24 hour race. This was in large part made possible by the technical and organisational support of Chris Yates (who also drives in the Team Stinky car).
A real time live webcast of the commentary, with live video, will be available for 2010 alongside the radio commentary at www.2cvracing.org.uk
For 2010 they have managed to extend the media package. They have been working with the New Shoots TV and film production unit from Middlesex University. The coverage will this year include both pit lane and other track footage. A team of approximately 10 students will be at the event along with a Production Manager. They will provide the webcast which will include footage from cameras on track and in the pit lane. There will also be at least 2 on board cameras transmitting live footage: Car 88 – Professional Motorsport World Expo 2010 and Car 40 – Crisis Racing have as part of their sponsorship of the event agreed to carry transmitters and cameras. Note that the on board cameras will be delayed footage as broadcast to ensure there is no advantage to any team (same principle as in other 'live' motor racing)
The webcast address and details will be available on the website in the next week or so.
Alongside FinePrint in 2009 the main sponsors included Professional Motor Sport World Expo and Crusader Vans.
This year the same three sponsors are supporting the coverage along with TOYO tyres, Solicitors Title, some donations from club members and a small fixed amount from the entry fees.
The radio output and webcasts are a very important part of the way the club promotes itself to a wider audience.
45 minute DVD of the race. One Option being looked at is for NewShoots to produce a 45 minute 2010 24 Hour race. In order to do this will require some extra editing equipment, time and some continuity work. The Sponsorship, to date, is only part covering the overall costs so I am contacting everyone to see if there is enough demand for DVD's so we can extend the package to produce a DVD.

Running InCar cameras : If you have your own cameras then these can be run at the event subject to passing MSA and Snetterton Scrutineering. If you have some interesting footage from the cameras that is taken during the race onto an SD card or similar then the New Shoots Team would be interested in seeing the same. They will be based in the media centre and should be able to copy the data from the SD onto their system. You can liaise with them or Nick Roads at the event.
It may be possible to hire a small number of cameras out to cars at the event. The costs will be around £ 150 for HD standard camera which will record to SD cards – teams will need to swap cards at some of their pit changes if they wish to record all the race and to download the data to a windows PC with around 30 GB of free space. The recorder will require a 12 volt supply to a +/- terminal block or similar. The cameras are being provided by DriveData. If you want to include live transmission to the media centre from the cameras for inclusion on the webcast this could be added at extra cost.
Please email me if you wish to hire a camera by August 13 at
[email protected]. I can be contacted on 07973 862525 if you wish to discuss on the phone.
Thanks to the teams who have pre-ordered DVD's.
We have enough orders to achieve the targets asked for by New Shoots and will finalise the details with them next week.
Thanks again to all those who have ordered and those we got money from at the race.
I did not have the time or energy to get around to everyone at the race so will contact everyone in the next few days to confirm the details.
