Hi, Is there a set of any extra regs for the 24hr race? for refueling etc, It's my first time entering the car and want to make sure I've got everthing sorted,
Thanks Glenn.
2011 regulations available from https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B5Ar79wlZ8lNeTdGaHBuaGU5VnM (https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B5Ar79wlZ8lNeTdGaHBuaGU5VnM)
They will change for the 2012 race but I am not aware of any significant changes from 2011 at the moment. I will update this post when I have a copy of the final regulations but that will not be until August.
One thing that can cause problems and is different from championship is strict requirement on numbering. You need extra numbers on bonnet and also in the rear panel for timekeepers as detailed below. The rear quarterlight numbers need to be on a reflective (white) background:
COMPETITION NUMBERS:
Competitors are responsible for ensuring that their cars carry their allocated race number on each front door
and on the nearside of the bonnet, between the front grille and top bonnet hinge, facing the time-keepers box
(situated on the drivers left) and these numbers must be of the standard laid down by the MSA. The car
number should also be prominently displayed in the nearside rear quarterlight in numbers at least 150mm
high. If numbers become obscured or difficult to read the car concerned may be shown the black flag to
enter the pit lane and rectify the problem. The fitting of reflective door number panels, supplied through the
2CV Club, is compulsory and all numbers must be in place at scrutineering.
Thanks Nick.
As a slight aside, there were some bits in the most recent MSA communiqué that won't come in until next year but are relevant; no more than 3 people per car on the pit wall, no more than 4 working on the car at any one time.
I wondered whether "working on the car" included refuelling, fire extinguisher for same, and adjusting seatbelts? Or even holding the bonnet open.....
Trev?
I'm assuming that the 4 people are for pitstops (pit lane) rather than breakdowns (garage)?

New MSA regulations apply for 2013 as you say. I think they are the same as this link below for anyone who is not an MSA member http://msauk.org/uploadedfiles/regulations/RaceNovember2011a.pdf
(http://msauk.org/uploadedfiles/regulations/RaceNovember2011a.pdf)
On the car working point then it would apply in the Pit lane not in the Garage. 'Working' would be standing in the Pit Lane so from 2013 only 4 people can stand around any one car in pit lane (another can sit in it as a 'driver'..).
There is a Board meeting 27 June and 24 Hour Regulations will be discussed. If anyone has any that items they might want included/ taken out then post them on this thread or send an email to myself or Christine Thompson and we will make sure they are considered.
Note it is ultimately for BARC to issue and approve any regulations we put forward not for Classic 2CV Racing Club.
Q13.1.5 relates to number of personel allowed in the pits, it says one timekeeper and one signaller on the pit wall, one fire cover, the driver and two others in the pits attending to the car (unless the event regs vary this)
Last year's event regs stipulated a maximum of two people on the pit wall but didn't make mention of numbers attending the car, so the blue book would prevail on that score.
Up to the organisers to specify the numbers this year, but next year they are dictated by the maximum number allowed in the revised regulation (at least thats my interpretation
