Title: 24 HOUR RACE BUDGET
Post by: sewellmotorsport on June 27, 2013, 14:53:45
Hiya

I am looking at entering my own team into the 24 hour race. Can someone tell me an average budget for the race?

Also any information about the car and what needs to be done to it would be great.

Thanks and see you all soon
Jack

Depends on what you have got and what you need.

Do you have a car? If you do, then you need to add up all entry fees (+club membership), cost for a couple of new tyres (or 6 new if you don't have any good ones), about £500 of fuel.

Then add some more for catering if you don't have friends who will cook for you, and if you need to pay your mechs, budget for that too.

A lot depends on whether you can bring along guys to help you, or whether you need to pay them, and also what state the car is in.

I have not got a car yet so im kind of looking for a budget, If I said £10,000 in total do you think that would cover it?
Thanks

Yeah, I'd say 10k will do the trick.. Do you know anyone with a car or are you still in the 'considering' stage?

Take a look in the matchmaking thread: http://www.2cvracing.org.uk/forum/index.php?topic=1942.15

Glenn Oswin's car might be available.
Dave Watson has a car (not sure if this has been spoken for).
Crusader Vans car might be available this year also.

You could fire those guys a message, or wait for more people to check in later with offers.
