Easy, but only if the aggrieved party brought it to Race Control's attention....
C1.1.5 Driving in a manner incompatible with general safety and / or departing from the standard of a reasonably competent driver.... OR
C1.1.8 Misbehaviour or unfair practice.....
I cant remember who did it but at Croix en Ternois in 1998 someone(not sure if it was Dalty or Sparrow) leant out and pulled Royce Grey's kill switch,he was more than a little annoyed.
I know these guys as I raced with them in the Mazda's. Ben in the white car is a bit of a character and he said he did it for a laugh which I fully believe.
A bit silly but not worth a penalty...... just like the guy who was jailed for 'gate crashing' a race at Brands in his girlfriends Polo, stupid but not worthy of a jail sentence surely ! :o
Sorry, but I have to disagree with you.
When I am clerking a race, I am responsible for the safe running of the race, the safety of the competitors and the implementation of the regulations. If, God forebid, something serious happens, it would be me standing up in Coroners Court explaining my actions. By continuing to officiate at race events, I am prepared to have to do that.
Whether or not this was done for a laugh does not matter in the slightest. As competitors you sign on and agree to abide by the regulations. Clearly this individual decided not to. If it had been brought to my attention as the clerk, the very least he would be looking at would be a lighter wallet for breaching C1.1.8, and if I decided that his actions were reckless, a lot more under C1.1.5
As for the bell end in the VW at Brands, he got no less than he deserved
