Title: RIP Alain from 2CVRT
Post by: Nick Roads on June 06, 2016, 22:08:00
2CVRT in Belgium have posted an RIP for Alain who has been a great friend for those of us who have been to Spa and raced in Europe with them. His translations at the 24 Hour briefings were memorable for their humour and brevity. He would appear with communiques at all hours with a wry smile and always had time to help sort out any issues. A sad loss to all who knew him.

That is sad news Nick.

I didn't know him personally, but I was at a briefing he took in 2012. All people who are involved with organising racing are important and are never thanked enough, they do it for the love of the sport.

RIP Alain.

That is really sad. Katy made a big impression on him, in all the wrong ways. In the pub on the Sunday night after the race, she said she was going home, he put his hand on her shoulder and said "Belgium will be safe now". Really good bloke and a sad loss

Nothing but good memories of Alain, absolutely great guy and fantastic sense of humour. Such a sad loss. Thoughts are with his friends and family
