Title: Competition numbers - links
Post by: Chris Yates on April 12, 2022, 10:55:16
I seem to get asked about competition numbers a lot, and how to get hold of them. The normal answer is 'ask a sign shop for cut vinyl', but if you want to just buy online and have them delivered, here's some useful links:

Section J of the MSUK yearbook, which describes the specification of the number backgrounds: https://www.motorsportuk.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/146-165-Vehicles-J-2.pdf

Our regs override this in some areas:

Links:

White reflective vinyl for door squares: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300772011310?var=600055717705 (should do both sides)

Ordinary door numbers (9 inch/23cm): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184096272079

Dayglo yellow vinyl numbers (150mm high) for rear quarter windows: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184102079778

Other sources are available, and providing these links is not an endorsement of those eBay sellers in any way. Just might be handy for those in a rush :)

Bought mine recently from

www.race-number.co.uk

Reflective backgrounds are only mandatory for the 24Hr.
Numbers in Rear quarter light not applicable to sprint racing and not mandatory for 24hr.  The wording says 'should'....
No mention of colour being yellow / floro' in 24hr specific regs.

Not being a pedant but want to be transparent, so that extra expense is not laid out unnecessarily.

Numbers are available at most BARC meetings if you know who to ask......

Bully, i'm not sure about them being transparent.
I don't think anyone would see them?
