Title: Lydden lap times
Post by: Paul on June 05, 2024, 21:55:30
In my paper timesheets I can only find lap times for 1998, 58.4 seconds by Royce Grey.
How much quicker do you think we'll be 26 years later?

There's been a non-championship race there since then, but I can't remember if there have been any championship ones - without delving into the archive...

2005 fastest laps (non-championship enduros); Enduro 1 56.686, Enduro 2 56.828 - both Sparrow/Adnitt.

Lots of DNFs and DNSs due to arguing with the scenery.

I've checked the archive I have and can confirm the lap record is indeed held by Pete Sparrow and Gary Adnitt, 56.686 seconds, set in the non-championship enduro race in 2005, the last time the 2CVs raced at Lydden Hill. Previously to this the lap record was held by Philip Myatt, 57.668 seconds, set in 2003.

I've attached the race report and results from the Christmas edition of Snail's Pace 2005, which describes what happened! (you may need to click 'enable editing' for the race report to display correctly)
