The event remains open to any car, old or new. In an era where track time has become increasingly costly, the Pomeroy Trophy offers a unique opportunity. It's a chance to put your winter upgrades to the test, experience something different, and to enjoy a truly fun day out surrounded by an eclectic mix of cars and like-minded enthusiasts.

The Pomeroy Trophy is a truly unique competition, one of the few times you will witness pre-War cars competing against their modern counterparts in a single-day event. The objective is simple yet exhilarating; to determine the best touring car, with a series of challenges that test a car's performance and its driver's skill.

Throughout the day, competitors will engage in various tests, including a timed slalom, straight-line acceleration challenge, and a brake test, before culminating in the highlight of the event, a 40-minute-high speed session on the renowned Grand Prix circuit (using the Historic configuration) in the afternoon, divided into three speed-graded groups. This isn't a race but an exercise to complete a pre-determined number of laps based on the car's age and specification.

And in 2022, the Pomeroy Trophy introduced an exciting new class aimed primarily at touring cars from the 1970s through to the 1990s and beyond. For this special class, the requirement for all cars to have current road tax is waived. Basic requirements for touring race cars in this class align with standard race regulations, including operational lights, safety equipment, and standard silencing. Cars including from Motor Racing Legend's Historic Touring Car Challenge and Tony Dron Trophy, Goodwood Gerry Marshall cars, as well as any 1960s GT or touring cars running on race-spec tires like Dunlop L's or M's, are all eligible to enter. The main difference in this class is that road legality or a V5C is not required. While these cars won't compete for the overall Pomeroy Trophy (reserved for road-legal cars), they'll vie for the coveted Gordon Spice Cup.

Competing cars can be driven to the event or transported via trailer. The car that clinches the 'Pom' title is always a remarkable all-rounder, driven by a skilled and passionate driver.

Previous winning cars over the last ten years include the:

Subaru Impreza

Nissan Skyline

Ford Escort RS2000

Lotus Elan

HRS Sports

Frazer Nash Targa Florio

The entry fee is £326 for road legal cars(£233 for pre-1940s cars), and £355 for non-road legal Gordon Spice Cup contenders, providing 40 minutes of track time on the Silverstone Historic Grand Prix circuit, making it a genuinely competitive endeavour.
