Title: 2cvgb world meeting
Post by: Richard hollis on June 04, 2005, 12:28:46
hopefully you will have all read the superb article repeated for you again in snails pace regarding the world meeting.

In addition to that i've got some more information. If you bring a race car for display at the club stand then you can enter earlier than the tues 26th when it officially opens. i'm setting up the stand on Sun/Mon. Theoretically if you tow up your racing car you should only pay the 2cv price for entry and not pay the higher price for having a non-2cv or non-citroen as a tow car. You will however have to park your car and trailer in a special car park hidden out the way.

As it stands we will have Derek Coghill's nessy2cv for the last half of the week and mine and Matthew's 2cv for Mon to Fri then we leave to race at donington. So if your going anyway why not make your racer road legal and drive it there or hook up your trailer and pop up because the more cars on display  the better it will look and its good exposure for our club.

I need to give a list of people who are coming with their race cars to the organisers so they know by the end of next week so declare it here or give me an email or ring. PS also need a hand maning the stand if your about so let me know and i could even draw up a rota. Cheers Richard

come on pete sparrow bring your car up. You can get it in for free.

I'll put you on the rota. Do you want a table to sit at and sign autographs? Do you mean the Bella's Boys cars are going to scotland or registers day?
Cheers Richard

The car's still as it finished the other week; I can leave it like that or see if it'll scrub up at all if you'd like. Must clean the oil out of the footwell......

We had the novel idea of putting some in the engine, seemed like a good place to keep it. It wasn't chucking out that much, though, the light never came on - the switch is connected, too.

Not going to France now, so have Wed - Sat off for lazing around in the sunshine. Is there a grand plan of any sort?

The 2cv racing club is going to be given a main arena slot on the wednesday morning of the 2CV World Meeting about 11 for an engine change race. I need at least two teams so please voluteer if you'd like to take part. We'll probably have to use the 2 Hollis Motorsport cars but it would be nice to see if we could change engines in under 15mins in front of a big crowds hopefully. The plan is both cars drive in, engine out, new engine in, cars drive out. First one out wins. Max of 6 to a team? Its great exposure for the club lets see if we can make it look good (or fun!) contact me here or on 07881 701099 cheers Richard Hollis

PS Derek if you want to clean up nessy a bit thats cool, but don't worry too much. Also could you send me some details about nessy as i'm planning to make up some info boards about each car, cheers
