Hi has any one got an engine for a 1988 Renault Master 2.5 Diesel T35 van? Thunderbird 9 blew up on the way back from Croft. Might get away with just a cylinder head. Any help, advice, knowledge on these engine's much appreciated. Right where did i put the tent? Cheers Richard FAB Hollis
Try International Rescue. Ask for Virgil or Scott
Sorry, a bit belated I Know.
Only advice I can offer, learned the hard way from running 60 of them, is never over fill the engine with oil....this will lead to the engine drawing oil through the induction and running uncontrolably , reving it's nuts off on said oil. This generally leads to diagnosis of Injector pump failure or scrap engine.
Also ..... never attempt to drive through deep water, air filter intake is low down and will take water into engine causing hydraulic lock up.
These problems, may of course have been rectified on current or late models.
cheers Bob, I'll bare that in mind. we've found an old engine and are currently stuffing it in. Steve thanks for the advice but apparently International rescue can't deal with vehicles over 20 foot long. Virgil suggested green flag.
