Hi

My name is Daniel jackson and im part of a group of 3 students currently studying in the second year of a national diploma in motorsport. For our second year we have to produce a project and we decided to come 2cv racing.

We have ourselfs a 2cv and are intending on racing it in next years 24hour race and a few other meetings. We have got as far as striping it totally to find that we need a new chassis and alot of work carried out on the body. However we are looking for as much advice as possible to help us along the way.

We are located at Brooklands college, however we live at: heathrow, oxted and oxford. If possible it would be a great help if we could see anouther car to get an idea at what we should do and how.

A few questions:

If we build our own roll cage does it have to be tested?

Do we have to run a larger oil cooler?

Do we have to uprate the fuel/oil pump?

Any advice will be much appritiated. My e-mail address is [email protected]

Thanks

Daniel Jackson

Daniel,
Is that Brooklands as in near Woking? If so there is a wealth of experience in and around the area.

First point of call would be Pete Sparrow, email [email protected] he is the new champion of the series for 2005

Oil coolers must remain standard, fuel pumps must remain standard. For a copy of the regs go to www.barc.net and look in the championships page, you can download this years regs from there.

Give me a call on 07889 647270 if you have any other questions

Welcome to a fantastic world!

Engine rebuild info can be found on the 2cvGB web forum along with some pics of engines before, during and after rebuilds. May not be of use depending on your expertise, but is good from an interest point of view!

Best of luck
Catherine

Chaps,

We gave the 24 hour race a go this year & it was THE best endurance race I've ever done - better than the sportscars I'd previously driven.

We prepared for the 24 hour race by buying 2 cars & getting Pete Sparrow to prepare the best one.

We have a spare car you can borrow & prepare for the event if this helps.
Last used in 2003, its got rollcage, belts etc. - everything but a seat & engine. You are welcome to use one of the spare standard engines.
We've tons of spares you can help yourself to as well.
You can even have Pete's notes of what needs doing to make it a winner!
