A friend & I have talked over past years about going 2CV racing but until now have done nothing more than that - just talk about it. We now want to actually DO something about it but don't know where to start. Can anyone please advise the best way of getting started (apart, obviously, from joining the club)? Should we
a) Buy a car already race prepared
b) Buy a 2CV & race prepare it ourselves
c) Rent a drive or two
d) None of the above!!!
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated by two absolute novices!
Thanks
Paul
'A' buy a ready prepared car. much easier and you can go racing straight away.
this depends on where you are in motorsport generally..
If you have raced then buy a car works well between 2 as there are enduros as well as sprints
If you have not raced or are unsure get a drive in the 24 hour and then you will be hooked
Thanks for your fast responses.
It seems that building/preparing our own car is not the best way to go.
Food for thought eh?
I thought the same way as you but my friend was thinking along the lines of preparing the car ourselves. Seems the two of us will have to "discuss" things (over a drink or two).
Thanks again for your kind support.
Paul
If you're going to this years 24 hour race, you need to buy a car/ drive ASAP.
There's really not enough time to build a car & drink as well if you've got a proper job as well!
But if you're commiting to the series for the long term, build your own.
That way you know it, warts & all.
hi paul, if you need a rust free shell and a citroen chassis let me know. we've built a race car from scratch and it wasn't a problem. email or call me if you need any bits of advice on building one, cheers Richard Hollis.
