Title: Well done to the Snail's Pace Magazine team
Post by: Pete Sparrow on January 16, 2006, 22:42:50
To all involved in Snails pace, well done.Nice and thick which kept in the bog for ages.Best of all I was in it a lot.I can send some more pics for the next issue if you like.
I liked the Stuart Dean page.I read it all, felt really sorry for him and then couldn't find the happy ending? what's that all about, even his van broke down.I was about to hang myself.I expected that he might have found £20 on the floor when he unhitched his trailor but NO! no silver lining.Proves there is no justice in the world.I think that Geoff and I should help him a bit next year.
But you know our favourite sayings 'lucky in love - unlucky in racing' Stuart you must be really lucky in love chap.
And our other favourite saying 'remember the secret - there is no secret' (we did steal this one from someone else)
You can move these around to suit your own situation

Roll on 2006 season

I am glad you enjoyed Snails Pace Pete. Despite being a club member, doing the 2006 season and numerous requests.......I am still yet to receive a copy!!  Perhaps you could tell me what else was in it??   :D

Thanks for the compliments, it makes it all worthwhile!  In regards to people not getting Snails Pace I have been assured by Paula that all members on the latest list have been sent a copy (that's 72 racing members and 14 associate members) + 2 sponsors.  If you haven't got it yet then you should do soon (I still haven't got my copy which is slightly ironic but Richard has his).

We are working on getting a back issue service up and running which means you should be able to get a copy of all the 2005 issues eventually!  More news on this when it happens.

I agree with Pete.

Great magazine, full of lavatorial humour but with too many references to himself.

In years to come, it'll be known as the Pete Sparrow sycophant edition!

If I can just get it autographed ..................I might get some serious money for it on e-bay!!

Roll on the next edition!

Good point Rod, the edition should have been called 'Sparrow's Pace'

Pete,

It's good.

The Oxford dictionary definition of "sychphant" is .......... "a person who tries to win people's favour by flattering them", so blame the Hollis boys for over-egging your success!

Truth is, we're all just dead jealous, even though you deserve it, & yes, you do seem to be good at everything! Haven't bought me a pint recently, though.

All this flattery is perhaps a ploy by them to make you slower, or give them room at, say, Lydden ................

A Pete Sparrow limited edition Snails Pace is available at a cost of £299.99 (+ VAT), featuring 20 pages of Pete Sparrow images

Serious point now: If anybody has not received the latest issue of Snails Pace by this weekend and they think they should have then please post a note on the forum.  Assuming the membership list is up to date then there shouldn't be anyone!
