Title: A good start
Post by: Simon Crook on August 12, 2006, 14:25:03
So the 2cv race car I bought, which last raced in 2003 and had a front end incident with another 2cv,  when the incident happed the engine stopped and has'nt run since that moment :?  after removing the broken fan and engine cooling cowling (I thinks thats what its called) and repairing a broken wire to the coil pack, 1/2 a gallon of fuel (which came with the 2cv in a can) which I presume is from 2003 too.

After turning it over a few times, a few fuel leaks appeared, fixed them and again turned it over a the engine fired into life, a small puff of smoke to start with,  all sounds ok now, temp gauges went up together, it sounds fine, move it backwards and forwards under its own power, much to the delight of the kids in my road.

Roll on next year :D  I cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Matt

I was only moving backwards and forwards on the drive, so I could not comment on such a thing
