I need to know by how much replacing tyres with the same size as the originals by another manufactuer will affect rolling resistance and therefore MPG, not a 2cv question, more in general.
10% 30%?
Any ideas
:?
Hi Pete,
I don't think there is a straightforward answer for this question, since I recon it depends on things like rubber compount and tyre profile.
But this might be able to give you an idea: go to //www.adac.de and search for reifen = tyres in german, you can find test data from a lot of tyres. They give an index grade to all aspects of a tyre, the lower the better.
Sorry it is in German, I can't help it, if you like my help with the german, please let me know, my german might be slighty better as yours.
All the best, Bart
Road standard Dyane, I get better fuel consumption with Michelins all round (standard 125s) than on Firestones, however ... I wear out Michelins quicker than Firestones ... no experience of any other make.
