It is great to be back racing and what a great day saturday was.
well done to the club for securing the pit garages. The racing is still as close and safe as ever well done to everyone involved.
Great to see the old faces and so many new ones.
Greg

Looking at the pictures on the web site I missed a great weekend.....Bugger. Anybody any idea on when the report will be published?

Hello

It is always difficult to report on enduros after the driver change and, when you are taking the photos (glad you liked em) it is usually hard to hear the commentary.  I am hoping that someone in the club will e-mail me a race report to publish (under their name).

Best wishes from Dick Roberts.

cannot help with the commentary but as you are probably aware the results for qualifying, the race and a lap report are at http://www.msttiming.com/barc/2007/71621.pdf.  The results could be copied over quite easily.

Also as a comment on your excellent website it might be a good idea to have a menu on left hand fside or "race results" or "race reports" and link it to http://2cvracing.org.uk/racereports.htm. I know it can all be accessed once into the website but there are years of results and sometimes commentary which shows how long the club has run which are not immediately available from the main page. It did influence me last year when I saw the number of years the club had run to take up 2cv racing.

Also looking at the results for Brands via the website noticed that the fastest 2cv's were slightly faster in 2004 (http://2cvracing.org.uk/2004/brands/review.htm) than 2007 anyone know why?

Maybe cos Phil was in his own car which was setup diferently than the Tete Rouge 1 car that he was in on Saturday? Also, track surface, temperature and atmospheric pressure all play a part in the speed of the cars
The differences aren't actually that great

I'd like to endorse all the positive comments posted. My last outing was 2002 and the formula is just as much fun as it ever was. Pity there's no report but the pix were excellent. Can't access the msttiming info, however, as I don't have this thing called Adobe. Is there any other route available?
Finally, 'close, safe racing', well yes, although I was surprised to find myself forced onto the grass along the bottom straight by one of the passing bunch of lead cars, who leaned on me quite unneccessarily (in my humble opinion of course) as I'd given the group bags of room. The last time I encountered this particular gentlemen was in the late '90s when he drove into me in a similar situation approaching the hairpin at Pembrey, and took us both out of contention. Otherwise, as you say, 'close, safe' and going into Clearways in a gaggle of five cars inches from each other and coming out the other side without even the slightest nerf was just what this kind of racing ought to be. And is! Congratulations to everyone involved in making it happen

hi i've written a report and will email it to Dick today. I'll also be emailing everyone for feedback from the race to go into the forecoming issue of Snails Pace due out in a week and a half, thanks Richard.

Hello Nick -

1) We have been moving home and looking after a mum just-out-of-hospital and the results were not there when we published the photos on the day of the race. (they are now there)

2) thanks for your kind remark about the website - only thing is that some 25+ days of effort went into converting all 9,500 files that make up the site to the 'new' format at Christmas. Our (immediate) previous design (that did feature the race history) was overwritten by instruction from the club.
