Dear all,
We've talked to a lot of people and listened to a lot of views. We have concluded that the best way forward may be to make cams free.
Effectively, whenever anyone contacts Newmans, Pipers or whoever, they will probably get offered a choice of 2 grinds, at a reasonable cost. The extremes will be self-limiting, as going too far will pop engines.
This will make the cars a bit faster, which is good as too many bends are now taken flat. It might also mean that some teams will run 'high risk' sprint engines and less edgy engines in enduros. So be it.
Beginners can then run any cam they wish which is OK while they learn the ropes in their first season and later they can make their own choices.
With a so called 'club cam' there is no real way that anyone can readily check whether it has been further ground.
As this option is not on the AGM list of proposals, then we'll be voting for 'no change'.
Best wishes, Martin H / Team FINE PRINT
