Title: Croft
Post by: Pete Sparrow on March 26, 2017, 23:08:14
Anyone got a seat in one of the sprint races at Croft? Don't care what as long as it has wheels and it goes under its own steam.
Free car set up whether you like it or not. Must be cheap as VAT man is coming for me.
Ta.

No Garages and we do all but the endurance race on Saturday so could be a busy Saturday

The original timetable had us doing both the quali for the enduro and the race on Sunday , all finished for 13:00 ! Maybe they swapped it around to evict the clubmans ha ha

Up to 19 entries now, pending a couple of payments.

Couple of points:

1) The final instructions include a timetable - this is "v1" and is out of date! Use the one from the separate link. Current timetable has both sprint quali and races on the Saturday PLUS then a separate quali for the enduro. The actual enduro race is the only event for us  on the Sunday.

2) Note that the old assembly area is now Parc Fermé! So at the end of the quali sessions and particularly the race, you'll need to slow down as soon as the line is crossed so you can turn into PF. The assembly area is at the opposite end of the pitlane now, at the top of the garages.

08:30 for new drivers briefing, Saturday morning, in the middle of scrutineering.

So now as it's all changed we have a 15 mins session for the enduro qualifying.
2 drivers putting in 3 laps each
Gonna be tight if you want to make any alterations 🤔🤔

Does anyone have a pair of new top quality front dampers they would like me to try at Croft???
Alternatively does anyone have a spare pair that I could borrow please?
Alec.

I will have a spare set of Avos Alec. I appreciate they're not top quality, but they do work! James Dartiailh borrowed them at Oulton so he could stop bouncing.

Congratulations to everyone involved in some of the best racing I've ever seen, especially the second sprint race. Watching that from the infield spectator area was just spectacular and speaking to the marshals on the post next to me it was clear they were enjoying it too, commenting that our cars might not be the quickest but they certainly are the best to watch. It's great to see so many colourful, well presented cars fighting wheel to wheel all the way through the field from lights to flag. You couldn't ask for a better advert for 2CV racing.
Thanks also to Wayne and everyone involved in the club BBQ. This club is as much about what happens off track as on it and having the chance to bring everyone together at race weekends, especially over some proper tasty decent food, is great.

I couldn't agree more, a fantastic weekend all round. Really happy for Ash Carter winning the second sprint, thanks to Katy and the Hollis's for the trophy presentation, and we get to do it all again in two weeks time! See you all soon.
