So who's all doing Cadwell?
C x
me
Me too - two consecutive races! Whatever next?
Me and Richard will both be competing in a desperate bid to hold onto our 2nd places in the championship
Now there's two word's you don't see every day, Hollis & Second !!!
Count me in,
Seriously though, well done boy's.
Now where's my Collier engine ?
It should be "Richard and I will be........."
Yorkshire fraternity will be bolstered also
Steve
As much as I wish we got the engine working at Snett we didn't.... Yes it was strong and yes it was fast between 5600 and 6600 revs but it was dead below that cant work it out still think its electrical... So not the engine ( except for fantastic reliability)
As for the championship why isnt Gary Adnitt on there? 1st at Pembry 3rd at Snett?
many thanks to the Hollis Team for a great race fantastic teamwork and a lovely atmosphere
TIGGERS IN
Hello Everyone,
BARC have missed me off this weeks Championship board so sorry Hollis Family, GBA is second in the 2006 Championship standings and hoping to cement the position by bringing out the green and purple wonder for the two dash meeting that is Cadwell, gin and vodka tonic anyone?
I will be there. Unfortunately, I have to learn the circuit in qualifying...Happy Days!! :P
Do I smell the first signs of excuses Simon ?
It was a rough race last year with plenty of paint rubbed !!!!!
PS.
(That reminds me, I must get a new clutch)
Andy,
Maybe you can get one from Sparrow, they're always reliable?!
Bully
Nah! No excuses here. All you can do is get in the car a drive it as quick as you can....right? After that Que sera, sera.
GBA - make mine a large one, Master!
now daltons the boy for excuses, his are the best, infact make mine a g & t and see you there
Geoff - you are a legend....that's a LEG END...a bit like a foot! Really enhoyed your company/attitude over the weekend.....despite what I had heard! :D You did a great job for the girls! I just hope they paid you appropriately.......!
When I say "enhoyed" I obviously mean JATED! Is that too cryptic?
Bugger,1st track I would'nt have to learn and I ain't going to be there!!! :x
never believe all you hear,
Simon,
A little bird tells me you're now testing on Saturday!!!!
Looking at the MST website for last years race, the qualifying time for Pole position was 2:05:861.
If I get anything near that time then the G 'n' T's are on me.
Bring it on.
wonder what super hero did that?
Is that why you wear you underpants over your trousers, Pete?
... and I thought it was just the girls team and Geoff that wore their undies over their clothes ...
southern softys watch the northern rock good luck at cadwell
Who're you calling southern?
Mind and wave as you're lapping me......
anybody south ove leeds the S.A.S.will wave, watch the gooseneck it bits please dont lift simon
Disappointed I cant attend, but I have an urgent appointment with an arse masher in France. All donations gratefully received (thats sponsorship rather than arse mashing)
Way to go Shaun.
you have the car that set the time to beat from last year and you're testing so you should have plenty of time to wave at us southern softies as you go by.
No pressure then mate?
you bringing the beers or what?
if it was only the car but two things missing a G.A engine and driver but we will have ago maybe better on the beer with you
You don't need the GA engine, you've got Geoff's motors. This man has powered me to 2 and a half championships so he must have a rough idea what he's doing, even though sometimes you would think he doesn't. Don't want no excuses. I used 5 different engines from 3 different builders last year and we did ok.
I tell you what mate, I think this will be the best race of the season so far.
You look at who's out for this weekend and there are two races to look foward to. There will be cars everywhere. The best circuit on the calender with out question. Can't wait.
I'll see you there for a beer.
Did someone mention the gooseneck?
boys boys boys, its all to do with having balls the size of space hoppers!!
power is not the answer driving is what makes a winner.
and at race weekends its not the racing that counts but the drinking!!
bring it on
maybe we should have cocktails sat night???
oh yea remember drivers are like teachers they do cos they cant do nowt else!!!
just checked the barc website and we're still officially 2nd in the championship, i believe the phase is 'you've got to be in it to win it!'
Watch out simon we've raced here before!
I've been there before too, only the once though. Having been, I wondered why I'd never gone before - fabulous place.
Brown beer or yellow beer for preference?
...as long is it contains alcohol I don't really care ... banana beer!!
C x
speaking of teachers and driver richard hollis is both and build his engines well there is always one exception
yes a real drivers track one ove the best, see you all 4 beer
Thanks to all for two excellent races. It's a pity the rest of the programme wasn't up to 2CVRC standards. Extra thanks to Derek for his entertaining ballet at the bottom of the mountain. Commiserations to Shaun for suffering a double whammy - well, more of a double WHAM!, really . . .
great weekend, but as a club we need to look at who we test with the caterham group is not working with us there poor driving standards are wrecking our testing and cars
we must do something to prevent further damage
Particularly given amount of damage done and attitude of said Caterham driver (if what I heard was true ... "Racing incident" ... during testing?!)
Well done to everyone for making it a great weekend! See you all at Anglesea!!
C x
Thanks to everyone for their help in getting my old car out at Cadwell, Terry for trying to get me some heads, Simon & Keith for the helping me prep/weld it (yes we actually did some prep, not that you'd notice), Paul for his continued support/help/advice as always, Shaun Calvert for giving me breaks, Simon for an exhaust, Wayne/Ainslie for an engine, Aubrey for a shock and Sammie for a front arm.
It was all really appreciated and although I couldn't chat much from under my car I really enjoyed the buzz around our paddock and everyones help, mind you the nightlife in Louth was also worth appreciating.
For me the racing was really good and nice to keep Pete honest following his performance last year, by the way Pete, thanks for letting me defend the inside line on the last lap of race 2!!!
Roll on Anglesey.
