Title: Pre-Race Qualifying (2007)
Post by: David Sullivan on March 06, 2007, 10:54:57
How will qualifying work for the coming season, especially if teams run the maximum 4 drivers at Brands, will each driver be required to do a minimum number of qualifying laps or will it be one driver? Also how long have we been allocated for qualifying?

David
All drivers have to complete a minimum of Three laps at racing speed in order to qualify
At Brands we have two sessions of 15 minutes each on the timetable as it stands

Is it an average time from the 2 sessions or just the fastest that choose the grid position?

David,
I'll give you the accountants response to your question - It depends!

Our regulation 3.4.2 states that "Grid positions for endurance races will be based on total time for both drivers (2) or average time, where numbers are variable (3 or more)."

Clear? Thought not.

Cheers

I'll be lucky if my car has 3 or more wheels after the first lap!

Think it depends on my confidence & ability in the car, i haven't even driven a road 2cv yet, until april & then my first run in the race car is the friday before brands.
