Races (not 24 hr) / Re: 2024 Season
October 26, 2023, 17:18:16
Hi

It's been a frustrating process and I'll report on why at the AGM . We have some provisional dates and we're working hard on the 4th sprint date

Cadwell   April 27/28
Croft     May 18/19

June       tbd

Snetterton  Aug 24-26

Oulton      October 12

We've not had a chance to discuss with everyone because we had to grab what was going. I'll explain at the AGM and please remember these are provisional from BARC

Races (not 24 hr) / Re: pembrey timetable
April 27, 2023, 09:08:11
the drivers can qualify in the sprint races ie at least 3 laps but there is still time to get 2 drivers qualified in the 20 minutes. The idea is to maximise the race time.

Sorry they've moved the race to the end of the day from being the penultimate one

Races (not 24 hr) / Re: Season
February 25, 2023, 10:08:42
Hi
We're really sorry for the delay, there's been a lot of to and fro.
Dates
Cadwell          April 15th/16th  2 sprint races
Pembury       May 20/21st      2 sprint races plus an Endurance race which is included in the Championship
Oulton          July 8th           2 sprint races
Snetterton     August 26/27th   24 Hour

so
Anglesey is off
We've tried to get a 4th race after August but no real opportunity this year
The Pembury Enduro race details still need to be finalised. It's a great opportunity to try out new drivers. We're inviting the Minis

As soon as we have the details of the Enduro we'll post them

Entry forms etc available shortly

General Discussion / Re: Track survey
September 07, 2022, 08:51:35
Thanks to the drivers who completed the survey on the 24 hour . Snetterton score was 4.95 out of 5

!4 of you had your marshall visit you but 7 did not.

Good ideas for improving so thanks for those and we'll try and incorporate into next year. Some we can't control eg waste bin collecting in the early hours but we can ask!!

General Discussion / Track survey
August 16, 2022, 16:44:28
Thanks to everyone who completed the survey on the circuits we've raced at this year.
The scores are as follows ( stars out of 5 )
Cadwell        4.78
Croft            4.70
Pembrey      4.39
Silverstone   3.76

So a resounding thumbs up for Cadwell, Croft and  Pembrey

As for where we might like to race in the Sprints the counts were as follows
           Cadwell         19 votes
           Oulton          12
           Croft              9
           Donington       8
           Pembrey         5
           Brands            4
           Silverstone      4
           Mallory            4
          Anglesey          4
          Knockhill          3
          Lydden Hill       1
          Snetterton       1

We now need to balance out where we would like to race, the BARC programme and the  ever so important cost

General Discussion / Racing in the EU
December 02, 2021, 12:44:23
Crisis (Nick Roads) and Pork Pie Racing (Chris Hall) recently ventured with our hybrids over to Croix in northern France to race with the Belgian club. To be able to do this we had to obtain a Carnet to present to customs in both the UK and France. It seems a fairly daunting process until you've completed a round of it. In essence we are temporarily exporting and importing a race car, tools and spares so we needed to provide a list of everything on a Carnet form. There are agencies that will do the paper work for you once you've prepared the list.

If anyone is racing abroad and not sure about the Carnet process then I'm more than willing to help

PS we had a great weekend despite the borders

Races (not 24 hr) / Cadwell weekend thanks
April 26, 2021, 13:53:30
Just wanted to thank everyone involved in helping me get car 96 back on the road after my prang at the Gooseneck during testing on the Friday. People found me parts, lent us equipment, stripped and put back together in freezing cold conditions. As many people said at the time this was the true spirit of our club to help one another. Thanks to all and a lesson for me not to let ambition get ahead of skill level and judgement.

Looking forward to the battle next year
