Dear reader,

As I am planning our ferry to the UK, I am trying to find out from what date/time we would be able to put up our tent at Snet.
Can we arrive on Wednesday? If we would arrive on Thursday the ferry times are very late or early. With kids this is not very nice...
A day earlier would be a better option.

Hope anyone knows more about this.

Kind regards,

Roderik

Hi Roderik, you need to join the BARC (racing membership), information here:http://www.barc.net/membership/index.php

and register for the 2CV championship to get the regulations for the series. Regs can be downloaded from:http://www.barc.net/competitors/index.php#saloon_cars

You must also join the 2CV Racing Club, details here: http://www.2cvracing.co.uk/joinus

and you are given your race number by Christine Thompson, membership secretary of the 2Cv Racing Club, contact details here: http://www.2cvracing.co.uk/contact

Hope this helps.
Mary Lindsay

Kind regards and see you at Snet  :)

Technical / Car number, location and rules
March 24, 2009, 10:20:40
Dear fellow racers,

I have been checking the rules and looking at all the pictures of the cars.

The rules say that the numbers should be placed on the nose and on the front doors in a white square. In the pictures I see circels instead of square's, placed on the roof and in front of the front window.
I guess this rule is flexibel??

Could someone please assist so we do not have problems when we arrive at Snet. Where do we place the numbers. We have a lot of space on the roof, but do not know if it is allowed. if I see the pictures it is. also I would rather use a circle on the roof. Also not clear if this is allowed.

Also still need a car number....Where do we get one? Anyone?

hope some one can assist.

Fellow racers...

During our build here in Holland, we have encountered several rules that were hard to translate for us. One of them is what the rules are on changing or altering the grille (in the bonnet). We only see original grills in pictures, but see no rules on it. Can anyone assist?
We do not want to be sent anway due to technical faults  :)

Thank you in advance..

Going to call him now so he get get underway.

Probably I will post some more questions here and there. We just started building.

Tanks for the advise,
But as you all know being from Holland we spend a lot more on items such as licences etc. This is why we need to save some money and do some thing ours selves.
At least try before we spend more money on things made by others. We can order everything from shops, but we simple cannot afford this.

Any one who knows the ideal angles for camber and caster, please let us know, so I can give these numbers to our welder.

Kind regards,

Roderik

Technical / Camber and caster angle?
September 03, 2008, 20:48:55
We are planning to build our own Belgium arms. We are now trying to find out what the best angles are for the caster and the camber. Can anyone please advise us on the right/ideal degrees for caster and camber of the front wheels (when the car is in the lowest allowed position)?

Thanks in advance

January 22, 2008, 15:44:00
Dear Trevor,

Translating the regulation would probably take me a week. 6 pages....or something.

What is it that you need to know and I can find it in the regulations.

Hope to speak to you tonight.

24h-Race / Racing licence for UK...Please HELP
January 22, 2008, 11:25:01
Dear Trevor,

I spoke to the MSA and they do not know are just tell us to come to the UK and get a National A licence. Of course this is not an option for us. This would take are complete racing budget.

I am now in contact with the FIA in Geneve and hope to get some news later today. Our licence department (KNAF) does not know what the equivelant is for the National A. MSA does not know, Barc does not know, Snetterton Does not know....

We have to schedule our race course in Holland for the correct licence and there is only one date for this before Snetterton. So we really need to know for sure and of course not run the risk that we will be sent home with the wrong licence on race day. (Bit costly) :?

Hope you can get some additional info on this matter.

Thanks for your effort.

Kind regards,

24h-Race / Racing licence for UK...Please HELP
January 22, 2008, 10:40:01
Dear readers,

I have a serious problem in finding out what licence we should get for racing the 24h race in the UK. Is there anyone who can tell us for sure. We have had several contacts about this, but still are not sure what we need.

From the Dutch KNAF we here that to race in the UK we need a similar licence as the National A in the UK. This would be the Proffesional National Licent (or EU licence) that we can get in Holland. This is up to the organisation of the race to decide if this is enough!!

As we are starting to build our care and are still not sure what licence we need we are beginning to have a problem with our plans.

Could someone please find out what we need for the 24h at Snetterton.

Hope to hear as soon as possible from someone. If anyone knows for sure please call or email me on 0031 651069484 or send me an email with your telephone number and I will call you ([email protected]). Maybe you can put me in contact with someone who knows this.

We have had several different answers and need to know for sure as soon as possible, for we have to plan a date to get the right licence. No licence...no racing..... And we would really love to join you at Snetterton this year.

We are trying to organize a team and car for the 24h race in GB (Snet or Wales) and the 24h of Spa next year. But due to all the changes in the club it is not making things easier. We still do not no a date for next year or any way to know for sure that the 24h race in GB is going on as planned at all.

Kind regards,

General Discussion / required stickers on the 2CV
October 03, 2007, 11:01:03
Dear fellow 2CV racers,
I was wondering where I can find the rules on what stickers, numbers etc we have to put on the car (how big and where on the car?). Can anyone tell us. I need to know, so we can start finding sponsors for the races next year. I cannot promis a spot on the care if it is not available (due to race numbers etc..)

Kind regards,
