Just giving this thread a bump.

Currently, the dinner is going to be a quiet affair. Lovely group of 10 which would make a lovely occasion but probably not cost effective....

Thanks to those of you who replied, chatted to me and to the board for their views. The majority prefer a sit down meal so, that is what I have gone with.

However, the choice of menu is far more limited this year. To have more options on the menu would add £12 to the overall cost.   In my vie, that is simply not worth it.

If anyone has a real difficulty with a menu choice and can provide me a reason, the hotel are very flexible with dietary requirements.

Hopefully, it will be ok.

We can always review the venue going forwards.

Ok all. A decision has to be made here. (It is not an option to change the venue so we are stuck with one of these).

The food menu at Westmead has changed.

Last year, the menu had a choice of three dishes per course (one being veggie).

This year, the menu (whilst a little cheaper) would be limited to a choice of TWO dishes per course (one being veggie). Any other particular dietary requirements can be dealt with.

The only other option (which is a similar cost to last year) is a hot buffet with:

A soup to start (veggie based)
One hot main with a choice of chips, rice and bread rolls (with a veggie option) and two desserts.

They do other buffets of street food, Indian and British but they really are buffet food rather than what I would term a substantial meal (that said, keep in mind, I do like my food.....).

Anyhow, I will be making a decision next week. I've canvassed a few views informally. I'd like some wider views if possible.

Please speak now if you want a say.... 😊

Hi all

Once again, the dinner will take place at the Westmead Hotel on 16 November 2024.

I wanted to give you all advanced notice of the date and, more particularly, advanced notice that bookings will open (and close) somewhat earlier this year than previously so I can get the relevant details to the hotel in good time this year whilst giving all of you more time to be able to book etc.

Please don't worry, payment will be deferred for as long as I reasonably can.

Well done Luca. 05:31:36 is pretty damn good for a "non runner".

Great cause too.

Have a very well earned rest tonight. 😊

Sadly, whilst the calendar looks great, time is my enemy this season. See you 2025

Morning all. Just a week to go. Thanks to all who've signed up. There are just a handful of people who haven't yet paid. I'll try to send out some reminders today but, if it's you, can I please ask you to pay, £48 pp, to the club account, this weekend please. Thank you

Thanks all for your replies. I look forward to seeing 79 of you in a couple of weeks time.

Unfortunately, it is unlikely I can now tag anyone else on. I will, of course, try but I can't promise.

Just a quick reminder, you have 7 days left to reply if you want to join us 😊

Just giving this thread a bump...

Thank you to those who have booked already. I've just got half an eye on confirming numbers with the hotel in a few weeks and thought a gentle reminder may help.

Look forward to seeing as many of you as possible there.
