24h-Race / Thank you
August 23, 2010, 21:35:49
As one of the marshals (4th year now) I would like to express my thanks to all the teams in this years 24 hour race for giving us this event which is undoubtedly the best race in the uk. lso I would like ot thank you all for the goody bags as the snacks and drinks went a long way to keeping us all alert through the twilight hours. Thanks to the Flying Dutchman for remembering four of us from last year (at least this year we didnt drink all your beer :) ) The weather order was almost right next year please leave the early morning rain off of the order as it is rather unpleasant. Huge cudos to team Gadget driver for righting his car following the roll at russels and continuing. well done to all for reaching the finish. Bring on next 2011

if there is anything the "Cadwell Mafia" can do to help let us know, we will certainly be bigging up the meeting for next year with the marshals at Cadwell and who knows we may even be able to encourage more to Snett.

Firstly some from Fridays Testing  http://picasaweb.google.com/deanowat1/FridayPractice#

And finaly a selection of the race from Sear, Riches and Bombhole ( Julie was stood down from duty for the taking of fotos as it was either just before or just after shift change)  http://picasaweb.google.com/deanowat1/TheRace#

Guys you may use any of the photos you want, a little credit would be nice for Julie

24h-Race / Thank You from the marshals
August 11, 2009, 12:25:19
Well where do I begin with my thanks from a small bunch of the marshals that were at Snetterton this weekend?

Firstly thanks must go to you drivers for a great weekend and a great race, and to BARC for organising.

Big thanks to Paul for organising the BBQ which was excelent and was very welcome after the race.

Big thanks also to Team Gadget Racing for providing the entertainment in Tyrrells, my only question would be is Kevin allways like that or was he alchol fueled? no the less he was very entertaining, also our own contribution to the entertainment John the table surfer, and yes he has now increased his tally of broken tables.

Also I would like to extend thanks to the following teams who offered hospitality to a bunch of 15 or so party hungry marshals once Tyrrells had locked up - gadget racing with the in doors swingball challenge, great laugh, great bunch of guys, team fluffy dice ( aka level 42) for the beers during said indoor swingball and for letting the younger members of our marshaling team and merry ladies sit in the car.

Thanks also to the Flying Dutchmen for allowing us in and supplying more beer.

Some congratulations firstly to Tete rouge for winning, to all competitors for finishing the race, and especially to number 60 for keeping going and getting the car ready in one day.

You guys are the BEST bunch of racers in the country, and with out doubt the most marshal friendly. Long live this releationship, long live the 24 hour race, I for one would marshal the 2cv 24 hr if it was once a month.

This for me is the best race meeting of the year, looking forward to next year.

24h-Race / Re: Radio Fine Print again at the 24hr
August 11, 2009, 11:59:07
big thanks from the marshals for the excelent Radio Fine Print coverage over the 24hrs including the "fog break".

During the fog it was good to know others were out there and it did help to keep our spirits up during the lack of visability.

Please make this a regular thing as during the night on marshals posts it is realy good to have the information that you guys have, also through the day when the PA system is on, at riches and sear marshals posts there is no commentary at all so your radio service is even more appreciated.

The team of commentators were a great bunch who seam to gell together very well and there was a very natural feel to the banter all through the race.

Great work guys, allready looking forward to next year.

24h-Race / Thanks for a great weekend!!!!
August 12, 2008, 00:10:17
From a couple of the marshals, Big thanks for a great weekend. For me it was my second 24 hr race and so far the best ;D
Almost got it right with the weather, maybe next year it will be all dry. I still get amazed at the sight of three 2cv's side by side with no room for a fag paper between them round Russels. Or 5 in line astern along Revet straight with no gap between them. But I think the best sight I saw this year was at around 6:30 in the evening at Riches watching you guys "Drifting" the 2CV's fantastic. Again the hospitality laid on was awesome, even though I was too knackered to enjoy it, as we had all day saturday to work as well. The goodie bags and radios were a great idea also. Thank you all.
Looking forward to next year allready.

Anychance of you guys getting a date at the "mini Nurburgring" that is Cadwell Park? I have some fond memories of 2CV's doing battle through the Gooseneck and hall bends.

This years 24 Hour was my 16 year old daughters first, and also first race meeting marshaling track side and she thoroughly enjoyed it, also my 14 year old son was running throught the race with slips of paper etc up and down the rear of the garages and he too cant wait till next year. ;D ;D

Hi everyone,

I currently race in an online racing league Race-Connect. we use rFactor, GTR2 and Race07.

I have just formulated a "Tour of Britain" Challenge series, using british tracks and a different mod each race. Saving the best for last................
The 2CV's at Snetterton, we have a poll running at the moment to determin the format for this race. I would be honoured if any of you guys who race the real cars and also raced the sim version could join us for this race, and maybe the season. If you would like to join us all details can be found  at www.race-connect.com and the forum is at http://race-connect.com/forum/index.php If you wish to use the skin of your real car please send it to our admin address on the members site.

Thank you for your contributions to an awesome sim.

General Discussion / Re: Flag Signals
June 27, 2008, 14:47:27
As a marshal it is great for our morale that a club does take flag infringements seriously, and action the reports accordingly.
We do not want to see drivers suffer financialy or lose track position. But we do like to see good, clean safe driving and if one of you has an unfortunate moment we would like to help knowing we are safe. You guys are the most marshal friendly club I know and I have been marshaling for over 20 years. I am eagerly looking forward to Snetteton this year. Jusst praying that the weather is much kinder than last.

Please, please please come back to Cadwell.

24h-Race / Radio Fine Print at Stingray 24hr
May 30, 2007, 16:53:57
As one of the marshals out there in the wet and wild Norfolk countryside on a post on my own, I have to say that the radio was a welcome dose of sanity in the small hours of monday (02;00 - 06;00 Senna Straight)

THANK YOU Fine Print, I do hope that you can make it a regular feature,

24h-Race / Snetterton 24 hour - Thank You
May 30, 2007, 00:18:04
Hi,

I would like to take this oppertunity to thank all the teams and organisers of this years 24 hr race for the hospitality and generousity towards the marshals. The goodie bags were great thanks to all who contributed. Thanks to Fine Print for the radios as they made the night shifts better for those of us on post on our own in what must have been the most abismal weather possible. the hot food that was provide around our shift changes was a brillient gesture and most welcome.

This was my first 24 hour event and although I canot gaurentee availability for next year I will certainly try to make it.

You guys deserve better support as you put almost all the bigger clubs to shame when it comes to looking after us guys in orange.
