I first met Simon in about 1986 when he was running a Citroen repair workshop within his father's engineering business and I believe running that business too, Simon was helpful in suggestions of quality and parts requirements at the time I was setting up the business of ECAS. Simon always offered his help and I do remember him offering to contact his debt collector mate, 'Harry the dog' if ever I needed such service.

I'm sorry to hear about his passing away Gary, I do remember many constructive chats with Terry about the future of 2cv racing.

I see the yellowbellies (affectionate nickname for Lincolnshire borns) have laid on traditional bracing cold wind for us.  ;D

We felt that the standard of food was better than previous at the same venue, the company was genial  ;D. I guess it might be pleasant to be nearer a city centre for other attractions and spa might be nice but I guess the price is reasonable at the 'current' venue, Room (ours) was clean and large, hotel staff co-operative and friendly - locally owned perhaps?

Still only 3 tickets - not looking good at 9am Thursday!

It's not the same car that won 30 years ago (that was my No13), Glenn's is Richard Dalton's first racer which I'm fairly sure did some Mondellos and would undoubtedly have been successful. We're hoping for good things....... Mind Clarkson won't be there to interview and comment on my words at the finish - "and here, with all the eloquence of Nigel Mansell but without the whingeing........."

As it's the 30th running of the race i thought there would have been some recognition of this momentous occasion.

On this Anniversary can Uncle Roy repeat his victory of 30 years ago back in Mother, which is still in ECAS livery?
