Races (not 24 hr) / Re: 2024 Season

Sorry to not make it to the AGM.

What is the calendar for next year even if its just provisional & any changes to tech regs.

Thanks - so presumably if there are pressure sensors outside of the white line or kerb any contact from a car tyre could be judged as the car having left the track. Last year the complete tyre (wheel) had to be shown to be on the sensor before a car could be judged to have left the track? So in theory going to be a lot more penalties.

Also noted that the club could add into the Special Regs for the 24 hour that penalties are to be reset every hour per car.

Very sad to read this. Great guy, remember well a night out at Brands Hatch a few years ago when he was a little uneven at the end of the evening and all the droll one liners at 24 Hour races. Gadget will not be quite the same without him.

Races (not 24 hr) / Brands Hatch April 10-11
March 05, 2021, 06:15:22
I see in facebook discussions taking place with BARC for the April 10-11 racing which is on the schedule but know a few people don't use FB so was wondering as to

1 - do we have regulations agreed and published yet for 2021 by BARC/MSAUK; particularly around 2nd driver and one qualifying session

2 - is Brands 1 or 2 day event. If its 2 day and no camping which the UK roadmap seems to say then that is difficult for most I would think so can it be 1 day please (Saturday gets my vote).

Happy New Year to all on here.

I just renewed my licence and ticked an option for '25% discount for first time' and all went through ok with the discount. I was keeping the same category of licence.

Hi Christine,

We are looking at options using Zoom. Email to members should go out next week on the AGM.

Short notice but the Board are having a meeting Tuesday 14 Sept at 8pm on Zoom. In recent years we have tried to hold a meeting on a race weekend to allow members to participate. There has not been an opportunity to do that this year and therefore if any member can use Zoom and wishes to participate then please message me by 7:30 and I can send you a link.

We will be discussing in detail as to how we hold the AGM later this year, the details for the Mallory race planned for October and a review of this years 24 Hour race among other items.

On a separate note if any member has any technical or sporting proposals then please send those in for consideration, the expected cut off will be 2 weeks after Mallory meeting, the minutes of the meeting tomorrow may change that date.

Hi All,

Sorry to announce that the Club is to cancel the Dinner Dance for 2020. With the various Covid-19 guidance and regulations there is not a way that we can see to run the event.

Thanks to Lauren for the effort put in during 2020 on this; we can confirm that the date in the Clubs diary for 2021 is Saturday 13 November.

We are looking at ways we can have some awards and a low key social event at Mallory Park for the planned race meeting on Sunday 11 October 2020, possibly on the evening before if access is allowed to the circuit. We will advise under the racing (not 24 hour) part of this forum on that.

We will advise on the 2020 AGM location and plans under the announcements part of this forum separately - it will take place on Saturday 21 November 2020 as planned.

24h-Race / Re: Covid restrictions
August 23, 2020, 14:23:32
The starting point for considering risks around Covid has to be the arrangements between a team, its crew and drivers.They would consider the advice from Gov.uk, MSAuK, BARC, MSV and effectively make their own risk assessment.

The club is promoting the race entry and then provides details of those to BARC and MSV. The drivers will need to self certify to both BARC and MSV and this will place responsibilities on them if they have any symptoms of Covid. Emails will be going to them shortly we expect and I would assume they will share these with all their team, we are expecting that the drivers will need to provide details of the crew (their 'guests').

The club will not be involved in the approval process other than to provide a list of the drivers. If BARC or MSV were to not allow a driver to participate then the only involvement of the club is that we have advised all entrants we will not make a refund.

In relation to foreign drivers then they can participate assuming they can satisfy BARC and MSV.

Spectators will need to meet MSV ticket entry requirements. More here http://www.msv.com/media/7316006/how_we_are_keeping_our_customers_safe_at_race_meetings_-_august.pdf

24h-Race / Re: Tickets
August 20, 2020, 10:22:18
Latest from BARC:

' We will have a 2CV specific Electronic Sign On form for the drivers to sign on with. On here, they can give us the sign on and scrutineering information required as well as being able to upload a photo of the front of the licence as well. This can't go live until this weekend as per MSUK reg.

There will also be a 2CV specific Electronic Pit Stop form which will mimic the normal paper form but this will update a spreadsheet which I and TSL will have access to so we can make quantify the stops the teams say they have done against the TSL pit in/out loop. '

Special Regulations should be published shortly - ticket allocation should be via the new sign on form which will allow for 3 extra tickets to the driver registering and these will need:
* Name
* Phone
* Email address

This is going to act as track and trace for the organisers for each team.

So 16 tickets per team but you will need to co-ordinate with drivers. If its a 3 driver team and you want more than 12 tickets then there will be another way to get the extra 4 tickets.
