General Discussion / Top Gear - 2CVs
March 19, 2018, 11:47:25
I really enjoyed the 2CV piece on Top Gear last night.

Come on chaps, how can you not all beat a novice with a passenger ? Or were you told to let him through?

The cars all looked very tidy too.

General Discussion / Championship trophies
September 12, 2016, 15:57:15
Hi all,

Looks like you have all had a fun season, I must say I have missed it this year, the Caterham racing is far too serious !

Who do I need to send the 3rd place trophy to so you can present it at the next awards ceremony ?

Technical / Fuel injection - lets make it even
April 14, 2015, 09:06:04
Can we investigate fitting fuel injection to the cars for 2016? I know it has been discussed before.

My main issue with the championship is the carb there are too many variables, if you do well or not pretty much comes down to if you've got the right carb set up.

The other issue is how easy it is for the carb to get blocked, as happenend to me in the first race at Brands.

It's frustrating after spending so much money it is all runined by a minute spec of crud! This shouldn't happen.

I realise that there will be a set up cost for inject but ultimately it will be cheaper in terms of setup time and rolling road cost and the we will have a level playing field in this area which should result in better closer racing, without certain cars streaking ahead or others langusihing at the back coughing and spluttering.

We might even get some recognition from the MSA for going 'green' as fuel injection should be cleaner.

What do we need to do to make it happen ??

Not sure this was really necessary, especially after I'd just put a new wing on after the previous one was bashed in race one.

Hi All,

Does anyone live near Oulton and would have space for me to park my pickup and trailer for the week before Anglesey please?
I'd pay some rent!

Cheers

A friend of mine  ;) has just received a speeding ticket for going past a Gatso on the A1 dual carrigeway in Lincs at 71 whilst towing a car trailer.

Apparantly the Gatso can use it's radar to work out the length of the outfit and if it thinks its a car + trailer or caravan or a truck it lowers it's speed threshold.

So be good and if you can't be good do 66!

Hi,

On the timetable on the BARC site we are shown as having a single qualifying - 35 minutes, from 11:40 - 12:15.

As per the regs

"For each event except the 24 Hour Event there shall be two x 15minute qualifying sessions, split by at least an hour. For a shared car, each driver must complete one session"

Has anyone raised this with BARC?

Really, really enjoyed the meeting at Oulton and Matt drove brilliantly considering it was his first time in the car and his first time at Oulton but I can't help thinking that 2nd place is the best we can hope to achieve this season given the performance advantage of the 97 car.

Come on Pete and Peter, if you want a decent race you'll need to turn off a few horses !  :P

Races (not 24 hr) / Championship decals
March 06, 2014, 13:51:44
Hi,

Does anyone know if decals will be handed out at the first meeting?

It says we need to display the BARC shield which has changed recently so I'm guessing most cars will need the latest design.

Is that the only decal we must display this year?

Hi,
There is a lot of chat on here about the costs for Pembrey etc but I haven't seen them. Can someone point me to the relevant publication please?

Cheers
