Hi Everyone,

I'm going to make a batch of headlight covers and front indicator covers.

Either blue or yellow colours available. Can be easily painted though. £10 pair headlight covers. £8 pair indicator covers. I'll bring to Cadwell or post for extra.

Email me directly please - [email protected]

Thanks

Technical / Technical Proposals 2021
November 08, 2021, 19:43:28
Dear Members,

It is likely you will see the Technical Proposals repeated in the Club Notices but I just wanted to make you aware of them now and their format which is slightly different to previous years.

On the spreadsheet attached you will find 9 groups of proposals (The 10th doesn't need voting on as it was an accidental omission from last years' rules by the BARC).

You will be voting to pass a group of proposals (as numbered on the attachment). Please have a read through to familiarise yourselves with them.

This change of format has come about as result of Andrew Bull's hard work reviewing the current rules to help the clarity of them. Thank you Andrew.

As a result all proposals are proposed by Andrew Bull and seconded by myself (Richard Hollis).

Hopefully by voting on groups of proposals it will speed up the time taken at the AGM. All proposals have been reviewed by the Technical Committee and are recommended by the Technical Committee.

Any questions please email [email protected] or post on here.

Kind regards,

Richard

Technical / Door lights for the 24hr race
August 24, 2021, 08:26:31
Just a reminder that several door lights were deemed too dim by the race officials during the race last year. Please ensure that the door numbers are sufficiently luminated for this years event.

Kind regards

Richard

Technical / Technical Proposal - AGM outcome
November 23, 2018, 16:27:55
Hi All,

Please find attached the outcome of the AGM in regard to the technical proposals.

I'll leave you all to read the document but the main highlights in terms of mandatory changes for next year are the following;

TP7 - It is compulsory to drill a hole through the 2 nuts or bolts holding the inlet manifold to the cylinder head on at least one side of the engine.

TP10 - (For newly named Classique Class only - Previously the Eco Class)Standard 2CV bumpers to be fitted front (in place of spoiler) and rear for the Eco class. The front bumper should be made up of the bumper bar and the 2 over-riders in their correct position. Tubular bumpers are not permitted. Bumpers should be fitted with the standard brackets in their standard position on the car.

TP11 - The new weight limit for next season will now be 665kg (raised by 10kg).

The Technical Committee are now writing up all the passed proposals in the regulations for next season.

Thanks to all those who submitted proposals and those who voted on them too.

Kind regards,

Richard

Technical / Technical Proposals Deadline
August 01, 2018, 13:21:56
The Deadline for technical proposals is 26th August 2018 not as the date I incorrectly stated in the last edition of snail pace. This date is taken from 5.2 of the club rules from dec 2017 as found on the website. Proposals should be in writing to myself or Chris Yates.

Technical Bulletin – June 2015

Technical Committee have carried out inspections of safety aspects of the cars at Brands Hatch and Cadwell Park. Rollcages, seatbelt harness mountings and seats frame mountings have all been checked. Individual owners have been advised where necessary and a full report to be issued soon to members soon in the forthcoming Snails Pace.

I have been liaising with the scrutineers at each round and several checks have been made by the scrutineers to ride height, weight, carburettors, handbrakes, brake disc thickness and rollcage mountings. This is a positive step and is the first time for a few years that the scrutineers have taken the time to look at the cars in detail.

The club scrutineering kit has now been partially remanufactured. It is hoped that the full kit should be available to use at Croft. Instructions for use of the kit by the scrutineer are to be written also.

Any new technical proposals for the 2016 season are to be put in writing to myself by email or post before the 1st July 2015. I will be publishing them to the membership within 2 weeks after the 1st July 2015 deadline for transparency reasons. Just to clarify, with the exception of the 24hr weighing proposal, all the remaining technical proposals that were passed at the 2014 AGM will been included into the 2016 regulations, (as should of happened this year). Email address [email protected] Postal Address 129 Shelley Road, Wellingborough. NN8 3DP.

Apologies for the late release of the 2015 Technical Regs.

I'm told the issue is with the BARC and we hoping to see them appear on their website asap. We will then provide a link to them from this site.

Hi All,

A short technical bulletin will be issued very soon.

However just to remind you that all technical proposals for rules changes need to be with me in writing by 1st July 2014 so the Technical Committee can consider them prior to the AGM. Please limit your proposals to 3 maximum per member and remember to have them seconded. Message me if you want my postage address to post your proposals, alternatively email to [email protected].

Thanks

Another driver looking to hire one of our cars. Please read below and contact directly.

Thanks

Rich

Hi

I have a driver of whom needs to acquire a few race signatures and I'm looking at putting him in a race seat in your championship at the first round at Oulton.

Cost isn't an issue as long as we have a well-run reliable car that he can just finish the races in.

He's an up and coming star who will be racing in the 2014 NEC championship.

Best to call me on my mobile at any time or perhaps send me a proposal of a few teams that would be great!

Thanks
