Free to deserving home. Arai open-face lid; I'll get the size tomorrow. Suit is around 5'10" and slim.

24h-Race / Belgium etc
September 17, 2022, 01:18:43
By pure chance - by way of elderly 2-stroke motorcycles - I might've happened upon a pile of 1100 BMW stuff. Couple of engines and some bits'n'bobs, I think. Emdy need anything?

24h-Race / Black Chilly bottle
September 30, 2021, 21:21:36
Anyone missing one from the 24hr? I've found one in my stuff that isn't mine.

I'm also missing a nice pair of green-handled needle-nosed pliers; I think they were German, but I can't remember the make.

General Discussion / Anyone remember...?

...a chap called Dave Hopwood? Skunk nose on the bonnet / tail on the boot of a black'n'white car. Before my time I think; someone in the VMCC knows him.

General Discussion / Just bought a car
July 24, 2020, 20:12:48
...or, rather, what's left of one. It last turned a wheel in the 24hr race at Mondello in 1998 and managed 60-odd laps and being unclassified at the end. We bought it from the widow of its owner (Alex Marr), who also said that a chap called Wood was the money behind the team. 1998 was my first 24hr and I hadn't got the knack of picking up information sheets from race control, so I have no idea who the drivers were apart from Alex Marr.

He brought it home after the race and parked it where it's still sitting.

Anyone know anything about it/them?

Is there still such a thing as a club exhaust? If so, from where may they be purchased?

General Discussion / More Austin Seven tomfoolery...
December 12, 2016, 23:13:05
My brother-in-law and I are off Austin-ing again. A bit more serious than the last one; we're doing the Classic Monte Carlo Rally this time. Should be entertaining.

For sale / wanted / Car for sale
August 23, 2016, 00:53:57
I think that my racer is now surplus to requirements. I've never really won anything with it, but it's provided a lot of fun along the way. Various spares and bits and bobs included.

Does anyone have a couple of spares?

There's an Ingliston revival on later in the year; there's mention of track reinstatement, too. Wonder if it'll actually happen?

It's not as far north as Knockhill!

Races (not 24 hr) / Ancient history (Ingliston)

Neil McDonald got in touch to see if I knew who the Pink Ladies or the stripey car were driven by. I don't know and the photographer (who I know) doesn't have access to his programmes. Any ideas, anyone?

Technical / Sabelt
August 17, 2012, 13:41:18
Have just realised that I haven't replaced my harness yet (out of date). Do we have a specific contact at Sabelt in order to receive discount?

24h-Race / Refuelling and tuff jugs
March 30, 2011, 15:33:48
Just checking, before I go shopping, that the club hasn't/isn't going to buy these in bulk from the supplier?

And, like the jerrycans, is it one jug per car and one nozzle per car?

24h-Race / One-piece front ends
July 07, 2010, 00:31:07
I'm contemplating assembling one of these, but can't find a regulation that allows you to brace the back part in order to stop the rear ends of the wings flopping around independently. What am I missing?

I got an email the other day informing me of this; it's no. 76 (or was it 72?), silver Dyane. Has a spare proto engine with it. If anyone's interested I can send them details.
