Well done team Stinky. Yet again you've proved that the further I stay from Stinky the better she goes!

Races (not 24 hr) / Cadwell
April 03, 2010, 21:54:28
I wasn't expectimg a lot; the field was sparse and a lot of the cars looked tired. Big wash and brushup for Mallory, perhaps? You pilotes made up for the shortcomings, though. The racing was excellent even if one commentator did seem to be of the opinion that Sammy is a bloke! Mind you, they thought Ainslie was Steve and I'm not sure who should be the more offended about that one . . .

Am I the only one who watched the tv programme about chef James Martin's assault on the Mille Miglia? His one-of-three-made £600,000 Maserati died 120 miles in with a broken valve - this after a VERY expensive engine rebuild and as at least one of the three cars had done when first raced in 1948. With valve credentials like that - and he's a total petrolhead - maybe we can get him on board! If nothing else he might fancy the 24 hour as a lower-budget option next year . . .

Club Notices / 2CV Racing Annual 2007

Thanks to all concerned for this unexpected bonus. When I'd devoured its contents it was the work of but a moment to punch a hole in the corner and add a piece of string . . . . can we have a softer cover next year, please?

Temperatures are plummetting - it must be nearly time for a 24 hour race on some windswept wasteland in Norfolk.

I can't believe that I'm the only one who's bashing the beige bugger rather than share the lounge with Bruce "Lobotomy" Forsyth, Hairy Putter or whatever other pap the rest of the tribe are watching. To all of you in the great out there thanks for an entertaining year's racing, have a Happy Christmas and here's to a fun and successful 2007 with Snetterton on a warm weekend.
