Knowing that some of the Club stay at the Breckland Lodge Hotel near Snett I thought I'd share the news that you won't be able to this year.  It burnt down a couple of months ago and reopens in November.

24h-Race / Re: 2017 24hr

I'd like to add my specific thanks to the Board for all their hard work, on the tightrope, that they put into the Club to make these events happen so successfully and enjoyably.  There always seem to be more brickbats than praise and I feel the need to redress the balance.

24h-Race / Motor Sport Magazine recommends.....
January 11, 2017, 12:12:33
The current issue of Motor Sport Magazine has a feature on 'what to watch' this year; 30 events around the world, including Monaco F1, Le Mans etc.  How good to see that one of the 30 events is the 2CV 24 Hour at Snetterton.  Great for the club that the race should get such a recommendation.

The 2cv Racing Club Forum seems to be overrun with cuckoos.

Thanks Nick for your reply.  Fully understood. Apologies if this inadvertently put you in an awkward position, but because dogs were allowed at Anglesey in a restricted area, on a lead, last year, I felt that, despite this being highly unusual, the situation may be the same this year.
I've been around race circuits for over forty years and so am aware that over the years it has become the norm that dogs apart from guide dogs etc are not normally allowed in most areas of most race circuits, hence my original question.

24h-Race / Dogs

I appreciate that dogs were allowed in a restricted area last year specifically as a dispensation because of the attendance of the 2CVGB campers, rather than as a request from us in racing teams.  We'll be staying nearby and have to have our dog with us because we'll all be at Anglesey with no-one to look after her at home.  Will she be allowed into the circuit at all this year?  e.g. in certain areas only and on a lead at all times, or only if she stays in the car?

Thanks for providing all this useful info.  It's much appreciated.

I'd like to think we have a chance of winning a race and that's certainly our aim but until we can tease a few more hp out of the engine with careful fueling, in a straight line fight I can't see how we can outdrag the Pete mobile.

Anyone down London way with a rolling road and weber expertise?

You could try Webcon in Sunbury  http://vimeo.com/79384823

Strange that such an important and far-reaching comment has attracted no replies.  Anyone?

There used to be one there.  I think it was at the Clearways end of the back of the pits where they do noise tests.  Not sure - it was a long time ago, but someone else may remember.

Races (not 24 hr) / Re: 2CVs at Donington

James enjoyed being a Hollis for the day, but I don't think he'll be changing his name just yet.   ;)

I read above from Phil that the dates are confirmed, but MSV's calendar does not include the Brands date, and this club's website homepage still states that the calendar is provisional.  I'm trying to book a family holiday around the racing calendar, so I'm not complaining about the 'discrepancy', just trying to find out where we are, and, if it IS still provisional, does anybody have a feeling for when it will be confirmed?  Thanks.
