Looking for a chassis for a race 2cv, new, used, whatever but nothing rotten. Anybody got one laying about they are willing to sell?

I'm clearing out all of my 2cv spares, thought it might be of interest to the 2cv racing community. It's all used/stripped from cars I've broken over the years.

Among other bits there is:

A galvanised wheels chassis (not suitable for 2cv racing regs as far as I'm aware)

A pair of front arms (standard, not turned yet)

Two steering racks

A complete rear axle assy with arms on

5 engines in varying states of completeness, some missing cowlings and ancillaries, some needing pistons etc

A drum brake gearbox

Some doors

Cylinder heads

Loads of other small shit, I'm happy to sell any of the above individually or you're as a job lot.

PM for prices, or call 07543 743 150

All parts are located in Arundel, West Sussex.

General Discussion / Re: suitable tyres

You could conceivably get them on a standard rim, but it will be a pig to drive, espescially on road and with stock suspension. You'll probably have trouble with them hitting the rear bump stops and you'll need to adjust the lock-stop bolts on the front arms otherwise the tyres will likely rub the arms on lock. You're better off asking "Does anybody have any useable 135s for sale".

No need, it's free to enter. You can camp which will cost you somewhere around £15, but as for entry, it's never been ticketed before.

Be warned if you're camping, they like a drink or two and they're jolly fond of their massive stereos!

Has there been much interest from the minis? How many are currently entered? Looks like the pits will be pretty cramped...

Interestingly Citroen's latest newspaper ad for vans emphasises their history, with pics of an H, an AK and an earlier one I don't know the name of. It was allegedly in the Daily Star on Friday but I don't read the Star, honest.

There is a similar one for thier cars too, with a Traction, DS and 2cv in it.

Hello,

I'm a bit of a lurker here, but I usually lend a hand to the Hollis team at 24hr time.

It's struck me that as probably one of the best events in the 2cv calendar, nobody outside the racing world seems to know the 24hr race exists, yet Spa, where you can barely recognise the cars as 2cv, and most don't have 2cv engines, there is a huge meeting of roadgoing 2cv owners who brave the snow/sleet/pissing rain to support the race.

I'd be willing to throw some weight into organising a decent sized 2cv meeting/camp at Snetterton, which if nothing else would hopefully bring some money through the gates, and some support and interest in the 2cv racing club.

I talked through the idea with Rich Hollis at the weekend, and he's promised to raise it at the next comittee meeting, Myself and a couple of mates run www.international2cvfriends.com, we have a member base of aroung 300 and we're looking at holding a meeting somewhere next year, it'd be a pleasure if we could arrange with the 2cv racing club to do it at Snetterton and support the (epic) race weekend that the 24hr usually is.

Obviously it's just a suggestion, but we're game to have a stab at it if you/the venue are aswell.

Suggestions regarding the race however, I'll leave to those in the know  ;)
