Out of interest Trevor, when the 17 figure was mentioned for minimum entries, who was it aimed at? A few championships or all, ie is everyone truggling with entry numbers?

Club Notices / NEW WEBSITE BEING LAUNCHED
December 05, 2006, 19:01:57
To add some more "meat to the bone" from Petes comments, there is a lot of work behind the scenes to make OUR club look better in 2007 to potential racers, sponsors, spectators, circuit organisers and BARC officials. These efforts are being taken up as Pete says by club members who are commited to the club going forward.
I know that Pete has put a lot of work in with Dick and Yvette to update the website and create some promotional material, please support them, they are doing it for everyones benifit.
I am busy putting together some further promotional material with Dick and Yvette, looking create a more appealing "at the track image" and launch a sponsors package, more info that will tell you how YOU can help to follow.
Someone who used to be in the club said to me earlier today that they had heard the club was folding, not a hope with what we've got planned.
If you want to throw your hat into the ring email Trev, Pete or myself.

Is it worth trying to see if Dean Macey wants a drive in the 24?

I think you'll find you're all wrong, Team Gadget actually won this year, the time keepers messed up and in 42 days you'll all wake up, take a shower and step out to find you came third, on the wall in your houses your photo's will have changed and Wayne, Ainslie, Dangerous and my good self will all be there smiling back at you.

Live the dream...

2007 bring it on boys!

I've watched the other shows in the series and they are looking for the humour in each group of vehicles used as part of the show.
Personally, I thought the cars looked good, were on the whole spoken about in a positive way and left us as a club/2cv racers shown to be legitimate in the racing world.
Well done to all involved, in particular Simon, Steve and Keith for their efforts.
P.S. A few of us have a DVD copy of the whole series, I'll be using mine as a promo DVD at each race on '07.

Hi Dick,

This posting was meant to see if we had a budding artist that could add some weight to what you and I are working on, carry on with what we spoke about if you can, as discussed I'll be over on Monday pm to chat further.

PS I've been through my loft and found the items I want you to take a look at.

Think you're fast? See you in the 24!

Whilst the tumbleweed roles through the website think on this.....

I am looking for a budding artist. Someone who can create an edgy front view of a 2cv for our posters and stickers for 2007 and beyond. I need to get this done sharpish so if you up for it or know someone who can help, please get in touch with me on 07990 987015.

Many Thanks

Events (Non-Racing) / cats in the garden
October 13, 2006, 18:54:46
Don't get merde, get even.

We had cats leaving chocolate kisses in our garden, so we fetched a cat from the animal shelter down the road and guess what? No more kisses in our garden, job done.

I did see the irony though as our cat popped into next doors garden for a "morning stretch" though.

General Discussion / Employements 2
September 20, 2006, 20:42:16
Are we proposing to pay Ainslie?

Cracking commentary when he's on mic.

Should we just chat him up/pay expences to do each race and get him a sub when he can't make it? Passion, experience, knowledge, enthusiasm.....would a hired voice have these assets?

I had a good listen at Mallory and it all sounded great.

Love you Ainslie, when can I have my cheque?

It's great being me.

Races (not 24 hr) / Championship Decider
August 20, 2006, 20:50:12
Right then, come on, who's up for Mallory?

This race tipically comes down to a bun fight on the last lap for at least the first six cars, is great for spectators and isn't a million miles away from everyone being in Leicestershire (apologies Scottish friends, everywhere is a long way this year, not you Christian!).

Come on, come on, it's the last round, we need a good turn out to keep our average grid up with BARC, the racing has been great so far this year and the paddock atmosphere like the old day's (pre me?) lets finish the season on a high.

The Championship isn't even decided, when was last time that happened going into the last round???

To all you novices/infrequent runners, if you need help or advice pre-Mallory or even at the track to get your car on the grid IT WILL BE PROVIDED, I and others are more than willing to help/support you, just ask, call me on 07990 987015 at a reasonable hour and I'll do my best.

Races (not 24 hr) / Testing at Mallory

Testing is usually really good value too (about £70), but don't be late for the start or they will not let you in!

I'm all in favour of Pete commentating, he should start now and not do anymore rounds this year.

The South won the beer and it's now in Simon Leith camper to be consumed or gambled at Anglesey.
Could we make the next prize some Lemonade, then we can make shandy, a real mans drink.

Races (not 24 hr) / Cadwell anyone?
June 01, 2006, 08:57:54
Thanks to everyone for their help in getting my old car out at Cadwell, Terry for trying to get me some heads, Simon & Keith for the helping me prep/weld it (yes we actually did some prep, not that you'd notice), Paul for his continued support/help/advice as always, Shaun Calvert for giving me breaks, Simon for an exhaust, Wayne/Ainslie for an engine, Aubrey for a shock and Sammie for a front arm.
It was all really appreciated and although I couldn't chat much from under my car I really enjoyed the buzz around our paddock and everyones help, mind you the nightlife in Louth was also worth appreciating.
For me the racing was really good and nice to keep Pete honest following his performance last year, by the way Pete, thanks for letting me defend the inside line on the last lap of race 2!!!
Roll on Anglesey.
