24h-Race / Garage Allocation
February 21, 2006, 18:40:30
Have seen a copy of the allocation for garages, can I confirm that they run as follows (cause my memory is pants and I've forgotten what the place looks like since last year, sorry!)

1 + 2, then 3 + 4, ...  etc, share then the possible third group are listed at the side of the spreadsheet.

Then is garage 1 + 2 nearest the track entry or is it nearest the pit entry? (Does that make sense?)

I know, I'm a nuisance, but you love me really!

Events (Non-Racing) / Warning about Beer
February 16, 2006, 14:48:33
Received an email from a friend. As I plan on occupying the bar at Snet, thought some of you might appreciate the heads up ...   Though given the number of married club members...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Police are warning all men who frequent clubs, parties and local pubs, to be alert and stay cautious when offered a drink from any woman.

Many females use a date rape drug on the market called "Beer" to target unsuspecting men. The drug is generally found in liquid form and is now available almost anywhere. It comes in bottles, in cans, from taps, and in large "kegs."

Beer is used by female sexual predators at parties and bars to persuade their male victims to go home and have sex with them. Typically, a woman needs only to persuade a guy to consume a few units of beer and then simply ask him home for no-strings-attached sex. Men are rendered helpless against this approach. After several beers, men will often succumb to desires to perform sexual acts on horrific-looking women to whom they would never normally be attracted.

After drinking Beer, men often awaken with only hazy memories of exactly what happened to them the night before, often with just a vague feeling that "something bad" occurred.

At other times these unfortunate men are swindled out of their life savings, in a familiar scam known as "A Relationship." It has been reported that in extreme cases, the female may even be shrewd enough to entrap the unsuspecting male into a longer-term form of servitude and punishment referred to as "Marriage."

Apparently, men are much more susceptible to this scam after Beer is administered and sex is offered by the predatory females.

Please forward this warning to every male you know. (And women with a sense of humor!) If you fall victim to this insidious Beer and the predatory women administering it, there are male support groups with venues in every town where you can discuss the details of your shocking encounter in an open and frank manner with similarly affected, like-minded guys.

For the support group nearest you, just look up "Golf Courses" in the yellow pages.

I've found a snag on filling in this B licence form.

Has anyone any experience of banned substances (one of my meds is on the FIA banned list) and still being able to get a licence?

Withdrawal from medication is imminent though it would need to be done in stages, what are the implications of this? I know the form is valid for six months but wondered if I can sit the course on the meds then be taken off them without generating problems with the licence.

All advice gratefully received!

Technical / ECAS have gone bust ...
December 04, 2005, 21:53:50
Was forwarded this from a friend who found it on a 2CV newsgroup...

"Roy was a sole trader operating under the trading name of ECAS. On the
18th November he appeared before the High Court and was declared bankrupt. Roy told us about this on the 21st November and asked Andy and I to stay with him and see if we could trade our way out of the difficulties. The
trustee appointed by the court told us on 30th November that a bankrupt sole
trader is unable to have employees so sadly Andy I are now redundant and the business closed on Wednesday 30th November"

Can anyone confirm that we have sadly lost a major supplier?

Technical / Tyres
December 03, 2005, 16:58:59
Anyone any info on availability of tyres in the UK? What have people managed to get their mitts on size and make wise?

I'm struggling to get standard road tyres of any make currently, so curious to know what's happening with the race fraternity!

Club Notices / AGM Feedback
December 03, 2005, 16:54:25
When can minutes and results of the AGM be expected through the post?

Although not a full member myself, I know of others who could not attend the meeting and have limited net resources, they would like to know outcomes of proposals and other matters arising.

Any updates/gossip on what is happening regarding tyres for the racing series or is this still open to debate and questions?

More to the point has anyone been able to get tyres. I'm struggling even to get standard tyres for the road going Dyane!

General Discussion / Dylan Memorial Trophy

Information is sought as to the whereabouts of this trophy and its presentation box.

Believe it was last awarded four years ago (or thereabouts), if you have any information regarding its current location please get in touch, or if you happen to have a nice wooden box stashed under your bed with the trophy in it please return it!

Email me with info - [email protected] or return the trophy (and box!) to Graham Harper.

Having recently completed a wee bit of info for the members list, thought I'd browse through and see what other enthusiasts of 2cv racing were like.

Turns out this Yorkshire-man's a big softy!!

"Likes intelligent birds and free bears"

Aawwww! Must get together to discuss the finer aspects of Corvus corone or Hirundo rustica or at least to give you a free cuddly toy!!!

24h-Race / Where can I find...?
May 24, 2005, 22:41:03
Okay these may be blatantly obvious and I've missed the link to it...

...as this race is this weekend I'd assume all entries are in...

where then can I find an up-to-date list of:
- cars entered
- their race numbers
- the garages they are occupying?

Could someone PLEASE post the link in response to this or email me with an appropriate contact number/email so I can pester people regarding this.

Or even better just type all the info into a response to this!

Help!
Catherine and her spoon!
