24h-Race / Where can I find...?
May 24, 2005, 22:41:03
Okay these may be blatantly obvious and I've missed the link to it...

...as this race is this weekend I'd assume all entries are in...

where then can I find an up-to-date list of:
- cars entered
- their race numbers
- the garages they are occupying?

Could someone PLEASE post the link in response to this or email me with an appropriate contact number/email so I can pester people regarding this.

Or even better just type all the info into a response to this!

Help!

Hello!

I shall think of something to donate for the raffle but I refuse to part with my wooden spoon.

As I'm being lazy just now (exam study so not in fact that lazy) are you being sposnsored for the race and if so where do you direct donations?

Catherine.

Technical / Does any one know if xpedia still exists

Haven't had any dealings with Expedia in a while and sorry to hear they have gone under, but you may want to type

www.blackcircles.com

into your address bar. Discovered them last year and were cheapest by far - on a par with the posting mentioned above - as well as being good on the phone.

What sort of tent is being pitched here? Mmm....

Don't know if I can make it down but I'd like a big tent. Although I've an aversion to smokers, purely because I'm jealous 'cos I'm no longer allowed... long story... getting boring...

So yes have a tent as long as I get a table near the door for fresh air it'll be fine!

Try Glasgow Uni girls rugger team, they'll give you a run for your drink!

Look at this way they drink the boys team under the table most weeks!)

24h-Race / Snetterton 24hr Website
January 20, 2005, 11:22:30
The club if I recall correctly spent a fair bit of money on having a 24hr specific website constructed last year. Currently it all still looks very pretty but doesn't appear to be serving any useful function. Is this going to be up and running again soon?

Everyone had a nice Christmas? Hope so

24h-Race / Shelters
January 15, 2005, 09:55:42
As a 24hr timekeeper in the past, I don't much care for shelters - I'd rather get wet, but then I'm a little strange as most people are well aware.

Whilst some shelters are thoughtfully constructed to enable a view past them/through them, others are opaque which can rather cut down on visibility across the track for others. I prefer not leaning across the pit barrier to try and see where the car is in a pack as it comes up the track, which has happened in the past as a result of teams with shelters constructed from opaque plastics and those with golf umbrellas. (No offence guys!!)

As someone who once spent many an hour marshalling - in force 5 gales on open hillside, etc. -  you learn by experience. Timekeeping can be one of the best jobs in the pit and everyone should try it at least once, I consider it one of the best ways to see the race unfold.

Sorry to be a little controversial!

I might be incorrect, but I think the renewals for 2005 should be being sent to Christine as she is the club secretary for the coming season. I've already sent mine to her!

Best wishes

Sorry got wrong end of stick re-info, hence email!! Hadn't gotten around to checking the forum when I responded!! Sorry, you'll soon realise I've no intelligence!!

Cheers for adding 'Scotland' to locations and no objections to name adjustment either! Will try and obtain some nice pictures of the car for display somewhere at some stage, most likely will take some at 2cvGB world meeting in July 2005 so it'll be a bit of a wait!!

Off to look for spelling mistakes in my lab report!!

Best wishes

It's all different!!

Things look good so far even though some of the info is out of date (may be worth amending joining costs sooner rather than later!)

Well done to all involved, looking forward to next year already, promise not to cause too much trouble!
