Entries are now open for the 2CV 24 Hour Race.

This will take place over the weekend of 27-28 August on the all new Snetteton 300 race circuit

This will be first 24 Hour Race to be run at the new Snetterton track.

The regulations remain the same for the Classic 2CV Cars as for 2010 other than a small change to meet MSA refuelling regulations.

The club is opening up a new class for more standard road 2CV's see other posts on this forum and the website for more information.

24 Hour Race Entry

Entry fee is £ 1810 for entries received by April 1 2011. Its £ 1950 for any entries after that date.
An entry form can be downloaded from the 2cv racing website http://www.2cvracing.org.uk/images/documents/2011_24hr_app_form.pdf.
The fee includes 2 hours qualifying and a full days testing before the race.

Twitter will be up shortly for the 110 followers from last year. You too can join the conversation http://twitter.com/#!/2cvracing if you are a tweeter.

Main website and this post will be updated with more details in the next few weeks. Expect to have a new matchmaking thread up shortly. We have had a few enquiries from drivers looking for seats via Autosport show which I received this weekend who will be added to that. There were also at least 2 groups of drivers looking to rent a Car and Support Crew.

Radio Fine Print is back for another year. They are expecting to have more web output of the race which may well live footage again. Martin Harrold is coordinating this. Interested Sponsors contact him or myself.

If anyone has some time to spare to help in the organisation, promotion and being available to help during the Race weekend then please contact me or Paul Robertson.

Great news!
This is the August Bank Holiday weekend - is the race definitely to be run on the Saturday and Sunday?
Where can we see details of the new road-going class, are they published yet?

Paul Robertson

Mary ,you should have received an email from nick today with the economy class details attached.

Mary Lindsay

Thanks Paul, I have now received the email.
Are there any detailed regs for this class or is the attachment with Nick's email all there is?

Thanks to all those who have taken advantage of the £ 140 discount for entries before April 1st.

We have had more than 20 entries which is higher than in recent years at this stage I believe.

I have emailed everyone who entered and am cashing the cheques etc and processing the applications. If you have not had an email then please ring or email me this week.

I am putting together some further information to go out mid April to everyone on the email list and will post it here as well. Will include all the entered teams so far.

One point to update on now is that MSV Snetterton are asking for significantly more money to race on the 300 circuit and so we are only confirmed for the 200 at present.  There may/will also be an issue with increased requirement for marshalls on the 300.

While the 300 has the attraction of a longer circuit for drivers perhaps it will split the field further and mean less activity for spectators and those on pit wall etc during the race. 200 will be slightly longer in any case (http://snetterton.motorsportvision.co.uk/circuits/snetterton/snetterton-extension.aspx). Phillip Myatt is negotiating with MSV on this.
