2012 24 Hour Race - Provisional Timetable August 24/25 Snetterton

The latest on the timetable for the race is as follows:

Testing will take place on Friday 24 August - garages should be available from 1700 on Thursday 23 August
Signing on and scrutineering from 1730 approx on Friday
Friday night qualifying as normal for the last few years so 1 hour from 1930 approx then 1 hour from 2130 approx
All drivers from each team to complete 3 laps in Night qualifying session
Saturday morning 8.30am approx - 20 minute warm up.

Race Start 1100 Saturday 25 August
Race Finish 1100 Sunday 26 August

Note that there will be other classes racing on Sunday and Monday. It is expected to be the first time Snetterton has hosted Truck Racing. The paddock will be busier than normal at the end of the race and we may be asked to keep parts of it clear for other series arriving on the Sunday.

No BBQ after the race but Tyrells bar will be open all day on the Sunday..

Unfortunately I had to cancel being at Silverstone at last minute for family reasons. Booked to be at Mallory.

2122 (Matrix/ AB Fitness entered June) 2CV Entries so far as below.

Slightly higher number than this time last year which is encouraging.
The £ 200 discount for early entry is now closed but 2cv's can still get a further reduction in entry fees if they participate in remaining Championship rounds as detailed on main site.

The Euro Class are having some problems with finalising dates for the SPA race due to elections in Belgium and a crowded calendar. As a result not clear how many will be coming. (June update - 3 to 6 entries expected)

11 teams have indicated they are considering Spa as well as Snetterton. At present the Spa organisers are suggesting we enter in a UK class eg to our own regulations. Teams cannot enter into a different class with a different or highly modified car from UK regs.

As agreed at AGM we are also to try a special class of Mini who will race at the 24 Hour race. Simple reason is we would like to get grids of > 35 cars to keep costs down for everyone. They have produced a restricted 1000 cc engine which produces similar BHP to 2cv's. A trial took place at Oulton before the Championship round and their car was within 1 second of Tete Rouge 1 and Gadget 1. June Update - 4 definite entries may be a couple more

Changes from previous post in bold

Friday 24th
Quali is   1900-2000
Quali 2 is 2030-2130 (this is where each driver needs to complete 3 laps as per the regs)

Saturday 25th
WarmUp 0925-0945

Race Starts 1100

Has there been much interest from the minis? How many are currently entered? Looks like the pits will be pretty cramped...
