hi guys, i have just bought my first 2cv and i am wanting to modify very subtle bits and need a little help please.#

i would like to know the best place for spares and service parts for them and how to go about lowering for a firmer ride and handling??

i have looked at many sites and many contradict themselves and i want to do it properly and safely rather than just go ahead with some of the rubbish i have read so far elsewhere.

also what size tyres are best with all this in the mix??  can anyone point me in the right direction please??

thank you

Mick Storey

In my opinion, the best place for new spares is ECAS.

The car can be lowered in standard form by adjusting the pull rods where they attach into the knuckle at each suspension arm.

Where do you live?

thejackal01

i live in doncaster, s. yorkshire

and thanks for the info, i was told i can lower it on the original set up, but it need to modified with longer track rods or something??

Derek Coghill

Lowering won't give a firmer ride and handling, it'll just make it closer to the bump stops with heavier steering. You'll need to experiment with springs and dampers for the suspension and altered front arms to re-lighten the steering again.
Dampers is easy....
